Locally around Philadelphia, he has been named a Beer Writer of the Year finalist multiple times, served as a judge at the annual Philadelphia Inquirer Brew-vitational, paneled local beers for submission into the Great American Beer Festival competition, judged beer and food competitions, and been featured in publications chronicling the local beer scene. His freelance writing can be found in various forms including the Communities pages of The Washington Times, Communities Digital News, Draught Lines, and at his long-running popular blog, TheBrewLounge.com.
