The All-Music reviewer gets it right. But I want to emphasize how much more real and tactile the sound is in this incarnation of Furtwangler's Bayreuth Ninth. Beyond reproach for the era. You can listen "into" the orchestra much better than on the EMI version. You can also hear every cough and rustle in the audience. It's a more than fair trade-off. Get it!Was this review helpful?
