Probably THE most difficult book to get through I have ever read. I ploughed through it hoping it would get better. It didn't. The subtitle is "The Secret Life and Times of Israel Potter," but the book is more about two dozen other people, and barely about Potter. There are some interesting characters, but Potter isn't one of them. The authors' way of writing is extremely disjointed. They jump around so much that it is hard to follow. Don't waste your time. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

BEGGARMAN, SPY is one of the most original bio-historical books that have been published in the last fifty years. It examines the life of a great American hero only to find out that he might have been one of our greatest villains. Based on a close reading of the documents of a bygone time, Beggarman, Spy is one of those books that challenge all we think we know of our past. What we come away with is something better and a lot more fascinating. This nonfiction is something that only the best of fictions can match. Was this review helpful?
