"I think I might not keep my other lacemaking books now, but get out my pillow and bobbins and maybe have a bit more success this time around. Very highly recommended."  —MyShelf.com

This is a wonderful introduction to bobbin lace. I have been a lacemaker for years and have recommended this book to beginners as well as having done the prickings. Finally, a book that includes pictures as well as being well written in description. I would recommend this book regardless if you have a teacher or not. Lacers that I have introduced this book to have continued their study of lace and progressed successfully.

The step by step color pictures are great for those just learning. I am dyslexic so reading directions can be problematic. The picture really help.

I got this book because I want to learn how to do bobbin lace. I showed it to some ladies that do lace and they all said it is a very good book. Since I haven't bought any other books of this type, (yet) I have nothing to compare it to. I am going to hae it spiral bound so it will lay flat - that's my only negative. Illustrations are excellent and the instructions seem to be very clear.
