For many this is not a good book to use as your first book on learning Korean, not on its own anyway. The reason: it has virtually no grammar exercises and drills. However, if a language textbook has too few exercises I can always focus on memorizing the phrases and dialogues instead, and that is what you must do if you want to learn Korean through this book. This is a crude and effective method which does not suit everyone. What I really like about this book is its extensive coverage of grammar and practical vocabulary - it covers all the words needed for describing weather, going to the bank etc. The audio is very good too. It covers the same amount of grammar and vocabulary (~ 1500) as a one-year course at university.
