Overview

“Catherine Coulter can always be counted on to write an exciting thriller” (BookBrowser), and now here are the first two thrillers in the FBI series - The Cove and The Maze - in one volume for the first time ever.

The Cove - In this “fast-paced” (Publishers Weekly) page-turner, the daughter of a murdered high-powered lawyer seeks sanctuary in a quaint little town, only to learn that she can’t escape her past or the FBI agent hunting her.

The Maze – “full of twists and turns” (Rocky Mountain News), this cliffhanger teams Savich and Sherlock for the first time in a case that leads them back to the murder of Sherlock’s sister seven years ago - and puts both their lives on the line.

“Coulter is a one-of-a-kind author who knows how to hook her readers and keep them coming back for more.” - The Best Reviews

Tried to read this but gave up 75 pages in to it. The plot is good, but the characters and story writing are boring

Book started off ok, but the further you read into the book, the worse it becomes. I kept hoping that I was wrong... unfortunately not. Very disappointed.

The FBI Series is probably one of my favorite series. I have gone back and re-read several of the books and am now not so patiently waiting the release of the next book. "The Cove" was one book I could not put down. The story line got me hooked on the book immediately-Sherlock tracking down and catching her sister's murderer while putting herself in the line of fire. All the while, Sherlock and Savich are beginning their romance and later marriage, which leads into the rest of the series. Catherine Coulter really knows how to get a reader's attention and her stories never overlap or have the same plot line.

Phrasing and writing style was often difficult to follow. I'm not sure how I schlogged through it. The conclusions to the various plots were way out there!! Try a sample before you buy. My new rule....if I'm not engaged in the first thirty pages, forget it.

An entertaining 2 story book. Mystery, family trouble, friends, and sex - what more can one ask for. Quick and enjoyable reads. Bunny

I just got my first nook, and a friend recommended the author and FBI series. She said start at the beginning, with the first book. I cannot believe how bad the writing is, characters are unbelievable and plot is ridiculous. I keep waiting for it to get better, but NOW I read the reviews and I see that it doesn't get any better. My first nook book is a waste of time and technology - I am chalking it up as a loss. I wish I had "tried it" before I bought it.

I only read The Beginning, but I also have the second book in the series. I hope the second is better than the first. I thought the character development was not very good. I do see that generally people seem to like these books, so I hope the second one is written better than the first.

I never thought I would read C.C.s books again ,but thankfully I was wrong. Her F.B.I. series Has Hooked Me Good. In-turn I've hooked my friends. Thank you Ms. Coulter..

Does not compare with Baldacci books . . . boring in many parts . . . may not read #2

Amateurish! Her heroines vascillate back and forth between being strong and courageous to being weak, frightened and dependent! Gratuitous sex thrown in which does nothing to improve the story. It was a struggle to get through these two novels!

I feel these stories could have been a great read if they had been more factual in the details. Writing is poor - don't like to see educated FBI agents saying of someone with a mental disorder "he's nuts" in many instances. If I hadn't paid for the book probably would not have finished the two stories.

Finally, i finished the first book, The Cove. No way I WILL WASTE effort on the second one. Heed the previous reveiws! No character development, the story just goes on forever, then ends with the same lack of entertainment or excitment. Stick with James Patterson, Iris Johhansen. Sandra Brown, or Lisa Gardner books if you enjoy suspense, mystery, excitement, and romance. AND I so wanted to like this autuhor!
