Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
The Barnes & Noble Review
CSS equals faster web development, better pages, more flexibility, easier updates. But it’s hard, you say? Not with Beginning CSS. This book flattens the learning curve, then takes you a whole lot further than “typical” beginner’s books.

Here are CSS’ basic anatomy and syntax; the “widgets” and rules that come together to make it work; all you need to know about selectors and inheritance. Here’s how to manipulate text and fonts, create liquid designs, avoid “tag soup,” style lists and backgrounds, control positioning. Here’s how to use CSS with XML, mobile devices, even print documents. Richard York even covers the workarounds to Internet Explorer’s imperfect CSS support, from the “Peek-A-Boo” bug to “IE7,” an open source JavaScript layer that adds near-perfect compatibility.

You won’t just learn CSS from this book: You’ll use it as a reference, constantly. Bill Camarda, from the February 2005 Read Only

From the Publisher
“…perfect for people who are starting to use CSS…” (oraclehome.co.uk, October 2005)
