The final battle has at long last arrived....

Rachel and the other Animorphs had fought a silent battle with the parasitic Yeerks for years, while the human race remained unaware. But now all that avoiding has changed. The human race is just as desperate as the Animorphs to defeat the Yeerks who will rule Earth forever if they're not stopped soon, and it's come to the final battle against the Yeerks to decide once and for all who will victor in the brutal war -- the Animorphs or the Yeerks. The world is terrified of this revelation that their planet may fall victim to the Yeerks. No matter what happens, Jake, Rachel, Tobias, Cassie, Marco, and Ax know that if they want to save all they have tried to protect, they have to win this one. No matter what they have to face or give up. Because if they lose, it will be a battle lost no one can correct. But will this war end in victory or tragedy for the Animorphs? No one knows who will win or lose. And no one knows who will live...or die. K.A. Applegate concludes the fabulous Animorphs series with an absolutely extraordinary and beautifully written finale. I would recommend it to fans and readers of the series everywhere, but I know that you don't have to be told twice to read this last and promising book in the series, Animorphs #54: The Beginning. It's fabulous in more ways then one, being the ultimate last -- and best.

    The Final Battle

I think this book was great. The battle was good and it was a great way to end the battle for earth. I feel Ms. Applegate has ended it well but I feel this isn't the last time we see the Animorphs...

    Way to end the series!

When I first opened the cover to the first Animorphs book, from the first sentence, I knew this was the series for me. Since the books are out of publishing, it can be hard to read them in order. Because of this, I ended up reading the last book before I read the 15th! However, I think this is definitely the best book in the series. I especially like how the team manages to still work even with Rachel dead in the battle with Jake's brother, Tom. My favorite part? Jake's last words: "Full emergency power to the engines. Ram the blade ship."

A bad ending to a great series

I had really enjoyed the Animorphs series until I read this book. I really think it lets down the series. They build up all of this suspense about who is going to die, yet they kill the Animorph in the first five chapters. Also, the war ends in the first three chapters, so how does K.A Applegate fill up the rest of the book? She writes what is happening in the Animorphs lives ater the war. I think she should have let the battle last until the last chapter of the book, Ad ended the series with,'Many were dead, including one of our own. But I realized that even though we had lost many,it was over, and we could move on.

    i love animorphs

i have always loved the animorphs series... since i was about 7 i have indudged my self into reading the tradgedy of Marco's mom, or the ruthless mind of Rachael, the sad life of tobias, the pressures surrounding Jake, Cassie's loving ways, or the humor of ax's mouth-th-thh. i have not read the last book yet, but i am dying to know what happens, the reason i would like to comment on this book is that i am not sure i want to know the end... but i know that is a lie... so the only thing i will say is from a long-time fan, i hope they let the public read it soon! i am 13 now but i still re-read the books as often as i can.

    The best book series ever!

I have read all 54 of the Animorphs books, and a couple more concerning the Animorphs, which titles I sooo can not remember. But let me say this I love these books sooo much, that I couldn't stop reading them! It took a straight year, but during the summer of my 11th birthday, I had finished the series! I couldn't stop. I HAD to read them all, they are that great! Although I was just 10-11, these books touched me the way that real life events touch people. The drama, fear, happiness that these 6 teens had to go through,-as well as the problems of any teenager's life,- was sooo real, that even now, 2 years later, they still remain my favorate books of all time. I was slightly shocked, (and even a little mad), when the series ended, but most of all, I was sad. My favorite book series had come to an end. And what an end! A death of one of my favorite character, the grief of the remaining, the way they drifted apart. Even the ending, with the war that was about to happen. The suspense I was in was soo great, that I even suprised myself the way I wanted to know more. What did happen? And even now, at 13, I still wonder. Ms. Applegate is one of the best writers I have come across, and will remain so to me forever. I think these books rock, and anyone who likes to read should read these books. These books are the best! I love them, and I think you will too!

    The best ever

I have not read all the books.I am trying to though. The Animorphs are my favorite books. They are never about one person but six.K.A. you did a great job in showing each person. They were never alike, always a different person, like a real person.Even though I have not read all the books I know this one is the best. When I started reading these books I hoped the story would never end.But it has.I just wish I knew what happend in the end.Although I agree with K.A. that the Animorphs should end fighting just like they came in.K.A. you are my favorite author.Thank you for all the books you have written about the animorphs.I will miss them.

Amazing book! Perfect ending! A must read but........... (Note to K.A. AppleGate)

I have read all 54 regular Animorphs titles, 4 Megamorphs, 4 Chronicles, and both Alterna-Morphs. I loved every one of them, some more or less than others, but overall the whole series is nothing short of spectacular. No other book (that I've read) has portrayed such action, adventure, and emotion as this series. I smiled, frowned, laughed, and was shocked when I noticed that my eyes were welling up with tears as I read them. As for this book in particularly -- it was outstanding. I loved how perfectly Ms. Applegate finished the series by showing the more realistic results of war on the Animorphs. She also managed to tie up all the loose ends in ways that were not only shocking, but also to where they flow smoothly together. KA, I would like to personally thank you for these books. I own the whole series and plan to read them again when I am a father, not only for myself, but so maybe I can influence my kids to read them too. I know I speak for tons of fans world-round when I ask that K.A. Applegate write one last book to let us in on what happened after the brilliant cliffhanger at the end of the final book. Maybe show how the game ends between the Ellimist & Crayak? Perhaps this could be done in honor/commemoration on the 10 or 25 year anniversary of the Animorphs?

    An excellent cliffhanger

The series gave a voice to those that have always wondered what it was like to fly as a hawk, swim as a whale or run as a horse. In all, the whole storyline kept you wondering, 'What if...' The war between the andalites and the yeerks drew five almost strangers into a team that lived, fought and yes, died together. In Ellimists tale, the conversation between a certain character who shall remain nameless and a hidden voice they could not see had light shed on it. A masterstroke of segue and emotion. We all know this character as willing to do whatever it took to stop the invasion, but their sacrifice at the end set the tone for future generations, an anti-hero to look up to. Finally, the chapter where all the loose ends are tied and the characters find peace at last, whether by dying in space and joining their loved ones, or helping to stop yet another invasion from happening, showed that even the strongest hearts can be tested to their breaking point. Thank you, for giving us such poignant storylines and believeable charcters, Mrs. Applegate. This is a series that deserves a place in literary history.

The saddest and such a cliffhanger!

This book is really the saddest because one of 'them'. I won't tell you who dies but I think that that's the thing that really makes the book such a great one. And the end, is well, really really such a cliffhanger because it's like a whole new series or something and I really enjoyed that part after reading the book because I'd keep thinking about it and thinking of what would happen. It's such a great book. I wish K.A Applegate changes her mind a writes some more of the series!

    Animorphs Rule!

I loved this book, but it was so sad. I can't beleive that "you know who" dies. And Jake is so down hearted. But K.A.A really got the message across. War isn't about everything turning out perfect in the end. And loved one's do die. It's part of war. Nothing and nobody is perfect. I think it's the greatest book I ever read!

    The Best of the Best

This last book of the Animorph series is just as good as the rest of them. All of K.A. Applegate's Animorph books are the best! I can't wait to try her new series: 'Remnants.'
