This book is so poorly written I can't believe it. It is a jigsaw puzzle of non-teaching, dysfunctional-organization, incomplete information and non-beginners level content. I don't think I've ever felt so bad about a technical book. I feel it was a total waste of money and time. It should not have been published in the state it is in. This book needed more review and revamp. I bought this book based on great prior experiences I had with other APress books. The publisher should scrutinize this writer and her editor for any future work. One of the glaring issues with this book is that it claims to be for beginners yet it banks on beginners already knowing databases, website development, Wordpress and php. Beginners-do you know these things? Well don't feel bad for being a beginner but this book is not for you. This book should should have taken beginners step by step through each element. Key process information is not included. On the other side of the coin, a great example of an APress "Beginners" book is "Beginning Joomla! Second Edition by Dan Rahmel. They did this book the way it should be done. As for" Beginning Wordpress 3", you can do a lot better with other Wordpress books, online sources or just working out the beginners level on your own. Wordpress is simple and powerful but you'd never know it reading this book. Buyer Beware! This book is going in the trash-a first.
