This book answers a lot of questions I had after reading Consequences, also helps my opinion of Tony a little, he's messed up, but even though he tries to deny it, he is in love with Claire. Now on to the next book in the series, I already read A Peak Beyond The Consequences and I can't wait to see how Tony and Claire get from here to there. For those who haven't - you must read A Peak Behind the Consequences. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I almost didn't get this one. Figured I had read the book, what could this book really tell me now?? OMG!!! You know how after finishing a book there are all those little nagging questions? Nothing you think is all that important....... just things you wonder about. That is what this book does, and so much more. An in depth look behind the scenes and into the players. Totally completes the story in a new way; at least it did for me.

Most of the book is exactly as it reads. Behind HIS eyes. You do find out a few different things that happened along the way and you learn what was going on in his head. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Behind His Eyes: Was a mind blower for anyone who has read Consequences Truth and Convicted about Anthony Rawlings and Claire Nichols relationship from the time anthony chose to posses claire for him self. I had grown to like tony by the end of the last book, but after reading Behind his eyes I couldn't stomach him. The things claire went through at the hands of anthony. Made you want jump inside the books and pull her out of that nightmare and give anthony a taste of his own medicine. Please read this book and take a great look into the twisted but sad world of Anthony Rawlings. A True 5 Star ***** Book!! Enjoy!!!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. The Consequences series has the reader running the gambit of emotions. Behind His Eyes is Tony's side of the story. This is not just a rehashing of the same story, but actually a look into his thoughts and scenes we weren't privy to in Claire's story. You must read the series before starting Tony's story. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Behind His Eyes - Consequences is for fans of the bestselling Consequences series by Aleatha Romig. It is a companion novel and not meant to be read as a standalone book. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to read this extraordinary series from the beginning, I highly recommend you do so. It’s a dark, twisted journey that will boggle your mind yet leave you craving more. Need more convincing? Read my review of Consequences here. Then read my review of Truth here. Still need even more convincing? Head on over to Goodreads and peruse the reviews for the entire series. If you enjoy dark, thrilling romances with surprising twists and turns, you will no doubt want to devour these books. Then and only then can you read the latest in the series, Behind His Eyes – Consequences, which provides us a glimpse into the perverse mind of a man obsessed with seeking revenge on behalf of his deceased grandfather for past wrong doings.
“Without fulfilling Nathaniel’s wish, Anthony Rawlings would be incomplete.”
Although I couldn’t wait for the release of this book, I was truly frightened to take the leap into reading it. Being privy to Tony’s thought process was just as painful as I expected it to be even while knowing the series outcome. It stirred up all those old HATEFUL feelings prior to my being Team Tony and brought them barreling to the surface once again. I found it horrifying to face the cold hard facts. Tony was a cruel, calculating, controlling man who basically got off on his domination of Claire.
“Even the slightest thought of his complete control over her life had an effect on his body.”
He controlled every single aspect of Claire’s life while treating her as a possession, an acquisition.
“It was about power. Everything about her existence was his to determine.”
“…there wasn’t anything he couldn’t or hadn’t taken from her. She belonged to him – all of her. They had a contract.”
Appearances were oh so important to Tony. Failure was NOT an option, especially public failure. Disappointing Tony resulted in punishment (sometimes severe) for poor sweet innocent Claire.
“When she disappointed him, she earned negative reinforcement.”
Once again, my heart shattered for her a million times over when she received unjust punishment. She certainly never deserved this treatment.
“Closing his eyes, he defined the woman next to him. She was his acquisition, his prisoner – a sacrificial lamb for the sins of her forefathers. She was his; he needn’t concern himself with worries over her emotional well-being.”
WHAT ABOUT MY EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING??? Grrrrrr…insert SCREAM here! He’s so DAMN frustrating. And downright MEAN! The emotional roller coaster ride seemed never ending! It was terrifying. Just when I began to think, well, maybe he really does have a heart, maybe he does really love her. Nope! More torment of Claire was on the horizon! Knowing the series conclusion was what helped me push ahead while being tortured by the darkness behind Tony’s eyes.
Once again, Aleatha’s writing is superb. She’s a master at taunting her readers and evoking intense emotional overload. This isn’t simply a re-telling of Consequences from Tony’s point of view. It is so much more than that. Significant chapters and events from Consequences are included and we are made aware of behind the scenes conversations that take place as well as Tony’s dark inner monologues. Although seriously disturbing, reading from his perspective was certainly insightful and revealing. Tony experienced certain emotions that he never before encountered and were entirely new to him. Of course, this was no excuse at all for most of his actions. And because of his distrust and constant need to test Claire, he brought on more pain not only to Claire but also to himself. I’m looking forward to gaining more perspective from Tony’s point of view as he slowly becomes self-aware and changes begin to take place. Bring it on, Aleatha! If I can read this, I can read anything!

Absolutely Perfect! In the beginning of Consequences I hated Tony so much and by the, I loved him. His POV is perfect and helps you see what was going through his mind with the things he was doing. he is dark and out for revenge for his grandfather and will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Still Claire's *accident* still had my skin crawling and we got to see what he was feeling too. He really does have a heart. And when he was poisoned, it was scary to think that if he would have died then we would have been lost, there would have been no Truth or Convicted without Tony. I still despise Catherine and always will. A perfect addition to the Consequences series. If you haven't read them yet, Consequences, Truth & Convicted, then you should. They are dark and sometimes painful to read but they are worth it. So read them and meet Anthony "Tony" Rawlings and Claire Nichols. And enjoy the ride that Aleatha Roming is offering, it is a great ride. Can't wait for BHE-Truth (March) and BHE-Convicted (May). Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Oh my gosh!! What a great read!! amazing how you feel reading his side of the story. I do think that there are some parts that I wish would not have skipped, but I do understand that re writing the whole book for his pov was not a good idea. This was a great way to get us into Tony's mind and able to understand him more. Thanks and can't wait for next one!!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS!!!!
Being able to go back into certain sections of Consequences and seeing everything from Tony’s POV truly is Intense. We do not get the whole book again, what Aleatha has done is given us the truly important sections out of Consequences through Tony’s eye’s. It was great to get some answers to some of my questions I had and wondered what Tony was thinking when he did that.
I hated him in Consequences, began to love him in Truth and was rooting for him in Convicted. Now I am back to hating him again. Is that even possible? Damn right it is. Tony is one sly evil man. He is manipulative, he is stealthy, he is downright all for himself in this book. I read it firsthand now. We all know by the end of all of this I will love him again, but right now I strongly dislike him.
You know what to expect with each scene because we have read Consequences, but seeing it again through Tony’s eyes makes it a little bit more terrifying. I definitely felt everything all over again while reading this companion book.
The intensity with seeing how much he enjoyed the fact that he OWNED Claire, truly was creepy. He enjoyed taunting her, pushing limits with her.
“Anthony Rawlings did not fail… He would teach Claire that there were consequences.”
Claire, we all felt for her in Consequences. Going through these scenes again with Claire, brought back all my heartfelt worry for her. She did not know which way to go, what was going to happen next at any one moment in time. You feel the intensity of Tony with her throughout the whole story all over again.
Was she truly that strong? What were her limits? Could she be broken?
Seeing the parts that Catherine played in this one also answered some questions I had as well. You get to see exactly what Catherine thinks and more about the whole situation with Tony kidnapping Claire. Throughout the whole story you know she is truly only out for one thing and there is not changing Catherine.
"Months ago, he's taken a strong woman and refined her. Tony supposed it was like the process with gold, where excessive heat removed impurities. In his process, he'd taken Claire into the fire and come away with the perfect companion - wife? Without planning to do so, he and Catherine had created the perfect Mrs. Rawlings."
I cannot wait for the next one to get in touch with Tony some more. Coming soon Behind His Eyes - Truth and Behind His Eyes - Convicted

Lets just start off that your hated feeling for Tony that you got while reading Consequences comes back in full effect reading BHE... I mean, how can it not being inside his head this time around! Oh and I still hate Catherine!
I wasn't sure what to expect considering these reading companions are pretty much the same story but shorter (but not necessarily novella length haha) and from Tony's point of view. These companions highlight key scenes and fill in gaps and clue you into more of the happenings in the series.
Overall, it did make me fall in love with the series all over again but definitely CAN NOT WAIT to see Tony's POV in BHE Truth & Convicted! These are a great reading companions that definitely help fill in for the original series! If you loved the original Consequences series, you will definitely need to pick up the BHE companions!
