Meet the Author

Cassi lives in western Washington with her husband and their rambunctious yellow lab. She loves to camp, drive, listen to music, watch movies, and play in the dirt.

But words have always been a favorite of Cassi's. A fascination of how words, paragraphs, chapters and books could transform someone's feelings, thoughts and actions. She has always been an avid reader, but Cassi's obession with words didn't stop at reading. Since she was little she would write descriptions about her surroundings, she quickly became a favorite among her English teachers in school by doing this, and almost instantly developed a lifelong dream of getting her work out to others for their enjoyment. In her words, "To be able to make someone happy, sad, excited or fearful just by a couple of perfectly placed words is an art, and a talent, that shouldn't be wasted." Today Cassi strives to fulfill those dreams and bring readers into her little world of words.

I loved this book! It was short enough for me to read it quickly, and it was good enough that I wanted to keep reading it. Like the other reviewer, I'll be watching for more from this author.

The only thing wrong with this free, 147 page book is that it simply is not long enough. I did not want it to end. I think this is the author's first book and she intends it to the first in a series. I will read the others. I hope they are longer, because I am greedy when it comes to good books and this one is as good as a perfectly made favorite desert. It was extremely well edited, had some minor details of violence and some death. No other adult themes. I found this story fascinating. It is a book everyone from the age of 12 up will enjoy. AD

This story quickly grabbed me with its captivating start and descriptive details. As she was running late for work, Cordelia somehow gets stuck in an elevator….with a strange voice. Could it be her imagination running wild? Or perhaps she was just going mad? Or was it really a ghost or a vengeful spirit? Who the hell knows, but it was creepy and mysterious. The voice was named Jeremy, and he asked her weird questions, like “would you save someone?” What was even stranger was that the voice claimed he was actually helping her, saving her. Really? It was just getting creepier and creepier. This story was all about mind games and deep ponderings (well, what else are you gonna do in an elevator, right?) I’ll admit that the ending was a bit of a head-scratcher, but, then again, that may have been the entire premise of this book. I thoroughly enjoyed the author’s snarky and witty voice. It’s an engaging thriller.

Somewhere between a 4 and a 5 for me but for a first book, this is great! This was a pretty easy read but very enjoyable nonetheless.

What a great read, I enjoyed it from beginning to end - very well done. I found all of the elements I enjoy here: Surprise. Inventive description. Suspense. Twists. The author does a great job bringing you into this world, capturing your heart, senses, and mind. I'll be keeping my eye out for more from this author.
