Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Sylvia Firth
Readers looking for information about training, salary and other requirements for becoming a stunt performer will be disappointed with this volume as none of this is provided. On the other hand, if they wish to be entertained by the catchy, vivid prose as well as the glaring, attention grabbing photos and sketches, then they may enjoy looking through the thirty or so pages that make up this segment of the series "On the Radar: Awesome Jobs." People well known in this field, such as Jackie Chan, Michelle Yeah, Gary Powell, Paul Darnell and Mark Wagner are briefly featured with details about their careers. The world famous magician, Harry Houdini receives just a paragraph and captioned photograph that mentions his getting free from being chained around the neck, hands and feet. One section provides definitions of "lingo" and a glossary containing nine definitions. There is also an index and bibliography. Unless this meets a specific need, tight budgets in most libraries, preclude this book as a high priority purchase. Reviewer: Sylvia Firth
