I can not say I "enjoyed" reading this book. Ms Falk states, in an amusing and mostly frank and no-nonsense manner, the truth about being in a relationship with a man who is married to someone else. And that "truth" occasionally hurts, especially the parts where she throws out myths and excuses.
This book looks at why married men have affairs, and tells "the other woman" very clearly what's what and what to expect. There are chapters on how not to be found out, how to deal with the waiting, how and when to get the hell out of the affair, a chapter of really entertaining quotes, and some of Ms Falk's own history along with a couple of other case-studies.
I found Ms Falk's writing style clear, brilliant, at times extremely funny and always honest to a fault. She examines some of the common misconceptions, she won't hear of many of the "excuses" and gives a realistic perspective.
It is clear that this writer knows her subject inside and out. After all, she's been there.
I would thoroughly and completely reccomend this book to any woman involved with a married man. It would be most useful for any wife whose husband is having and affair, as it would clarify a lot of things for her, too.
On Ms Falk's website there are a couple of radio interviews with her which make most entertaining listening too.
Anyway, this book has helped me tremendously, and will no doubt continue to help me in the next few months.
