I'm now much older (a grandmother 7 times over) and was looking for a way to take off a few extra pounds that have slowly crept on over the years. I'm very active, I ride my bike, walk, ride my horses, but my mid-section was still in need of help. This book drew my attention while I was brousing through B&N, and on a whim bought it. I already owned a CD with the right kind of music so this seemed like a G0D-given opportunity dropped in front of me. The book offers great pictures showing the different moves, with easy to follow written insturctions. Belly Dancing makes me feels YEARS youngr. It's fun, GREAT exercise for the whole body, but especailly the mid-section, and leaves me feeling wonderful. My husband loves it, too.
As a relatively new dancer (3 months), I was able to get enough confidence to do a solo performance in a benefit - and the sky didn't cave in. I would recommend this as gift for your girlfriends.
