Editorial Reviews

Romance Reviews Today
"A fascinating blend of paranormal suspense, intrigue and romance, BELOVED STRANGER is a well-crafted, highly detailed novel that captivates and enthralls from the very first page. Ms. Crossley's attention to detail is impressive, from her vivid imagery of rural Canada to her excellent character development. Besides strong main characters, we are also introduced to excellently drawn secondary characters, especially The Sentinel, who adds just the right amount of suspense to an already taut, mystery-filled plot. An extremely satisfying read, BELOVED STRANGER is the book to pick up for a strong dose of paranormal intrigue and romance." (Astrid Kinn of Romance Reviews Today)
Simpley Ebooks
"Patricia Crossley, in her book Beloved Stranger, brings to her readers a story spanning nearly 200 years. A murder has been committed and the reader is left to wonder who and why and learns throughout the book the love that a couple have shared throughout the ages. Ms. Crossley has expertly written a story drawing in her readers with wonderful characters and a mystery which begs to be solved. Her hints at the paranormal with ghosts keeps the reader turning pages to witness their release into a world of their own and the healing of their hearts along with those of Sarah and Pierre. This is a book to grab a glass of lemonade, sit down and enjoy."

Simply Ebooks

"Let me tell you, pulling an all-nighter reading a page-turner is a heck of a lot more comfortable in bed under the comforter, curled up with the latest paperback, rather than hunched over and wrapped in two blankets, sitting in front of the computer. When I started reading Patricia Crossley's BELOVED STRANGER, I simply wasn't in the mood to print the book out (unlike most ebooks I've read lately, this one is a full-sized novel!). Even though I print out documents double-sided, I wanted to see if I could do this review without using the paper. I started reading around 6 PM on Sunday evening, took a short break to throw some food at the kids, husband & dog, and then proceeded to be mesmerized for the next 5 hours. Since Monday was a workday,

I decided I'd better get a little sleep, so I didn't actually finish the book until the next evening. But let me tell you, this one book has convinced me to get a laptop that I can take to bed with me! Patricia Crossley has woven an extremely engaging story, with just the right amounts of mystery and romance (in two different centuries, even!), with a goodly dose of paranormal. The writing for the characters is full and rich, and the text flows effortlessly. Do yourself a favor and read BELOVED STRANGER! Though, I warn you, be prepared to do it in a single sitting."

"Patricia Crossley has a marvelous way of building a story. Words flow naturally, dialogue is witty, intriguing mysteries develop about Sarah's ancestor and about Sarah and Pierre's chances for a future together. The sexual tension between Sarah and Pierre is immediate and sizzling. He's falling for her in spite of the evidence against her. She's ready to give in to her feelings for him despite her earlier convictions about men. Can Sarah help Pierre come to terms with his own grief? Will Pierre be the one to help Sarah learn the message of her nightmares and reach her dream of a stable home and family? Or will our hopes for their future be dashed when Sarah discovers he's not the business man he said he was? She has been painfully stung once. Can she ever forgive him for his deceit? Beloved Stranger is full of love and suspense, a well-crafted keeper--impossible to put down!" (Jeanne Allen of
My Shelf Reviews
"Pierre and Sarah must team-up to solve the haunting mysteries and uncover their connections to the dreams, risking everything, even their own lives! . Beloved Stranger is a perfect pick to read one dark evening by a fireplace. It's light storytelling will take you through the streets of Montreal and it's surrounding suburban towns. The book's detailed descriptions of locations and scenic views of the Quebec cities will leave you thinking you have toured them yourself." ( Annie Bonneau of My Shelf Reviews)
Stanislava Ivanova
"Ms. Crossley has created a tense tale of romance, overshadowed by danger and supernatural elements. The flashbacks to the past and the sentinel only add to the atmosphere. Although there were some loose links that I would have liked to see tied up, the plot is solid and fascinating, the characters well-crafted and believable. Although integral to the story, the supernatural element is subtle enough to be enjoyed even by readers who are not fans of the paranormal." (Stanislava Ivanova of Road to Romance)
Romantic Times Magazine
". neither (Sarah nor Pierre) realizes there is an evil entity working to keep them apart--even if it has to remove one of them permanently. BELOVED STRANGER intertwines a mystery of a past tragedy with the paranormal. The story concentrates on the two main characters, leaving the

secondary characters as mainly props. The story draws you in and keeps you fascinated, intrigued and just a bit spooked to the last page." 3 Stars! --(Susan Mobley from Romantic Times Magazine)
