BELOVED VAMPIRE- Joey W Hill Jessica Tyson’s happy life is abruptly ended when she is kidnapped and thrown into the violent world of Vampires. Brutally tortured for 5 years, she has lost all hope. Twice marked as a servant by her cruel Master, she clings to her humanity through the tales she reads in a 300 year old diary. The tragic love story of the Arabic beauty Farida and the man she loves Lord Mason are Jessica’s only escape from the horrors she endures. The sudden opportunity to kill her cruel Master before he can complete the 3rd mark frees Jessica, but heads her toward imminent death. Her only wish before she dies is to visit the secret tomb Lord Mason has made for his beloved Farida. After a long journey with 3 traveling guides, she finds her way into the tomb. She’s prepared to die at Farida’s side only to be thwarted by her traveling companions desire to rob the many riches they find there. The robbers are stopped by none other than Lord Mason himself. At that moment, Jessica realizes the man she has come to know and love through the pages of Farida’s diary is himself a Vampire. Heartbroken, she crumbles under this latest torment and falls unconscious near death. But what Jessica doesn’t realize is that although Lord Mason is a Vampire, he is also everything Farida said about the man she loved. Intrigued by her, and guided by compassion Lord Mason brings Jessica to his home. When he learns the truth behind what caused her Master’s death he marks her as one of his own and sets out to help her regain the life that was stolen from her. Consumed by his own guilt over his role in his beloved Farida’s death, with patience and tenderness Lord Mason teaches Jessica that trust IS possible, and Dominance and submission can be the key to finding your heart’s desire…for them both. Book 4 in the Vampire Queen series. This story is so beautifully written. The characters are richly drawn and their struggle to find Love again is the thread that ties this story together. Erotic and deeply sensual, the attraction between Jessica and Lord Mason is palpable. As we watch Jessica struggle to overcome her memories of the horrific BDSM sexual games her former Master subjected her to, Lord Mason shows her what those same sexual games can be when done for their shared pleasure. We get to see other familiar characters from this series. Lady Lyssa and her servant Jacob (book 1, 2 & 8) along with Lady Daniela and her servant Devlin (book 3) show up to help Mason show Jessica what the right type of Master/Mistress/servant relationship can be when submission is willingly given. Joey W Hill is the BEST when writing erotic BDSM relationships and these beautiful preternatural predators!! Book Rating: 5 Heat Rating: 5Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. This book can be read stand-alone. We met Mason briefly in The Mark of the Vampire Queen (Vampire Queen, #2) this story happens some months after that. Jessica was forced into becoming a vampire servant and endured the horrid depravity at the hands of her master. She would escape into her imagination through the stories of Farida and her lover. She survives her masters death at her hands and escapes into the Saharan Desert looking for Farida’s tomb. She goes there to die but is instead saved by Lord Mason Farida’s lover and an ancient vampire. They both have issues but could ultimately end up saving each other. This is another darkly sensual tale in the Vampire Queen series. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Another Fantstic Novel by Joey W. Hill. In Beloved, we meet Jessica and Mason. Jessica a Vampire servant, kills her sadistic master and is now on the run, dying, and looking for the tomb of a long dead middle-eastern woman whose diary she is reading. There her life is saved by the Vampire Mason. The rest I'll let you read. From the Middle-east to South America the journey of these two begins. Was this review helpful? This book is one of my all time favs. The epic love story that Mason and Jessica share is nothing short of memorizing. Joey W. Hill creates characters and stories that you can't help but become emotionally invested in. This is one of her best and a great addition to the Vampire Queen Series. Was this review helpful? This book is absolutely my favorite of all time, It sinks its hooks into you from the first page and doesn't let you go. The hero Mason, is vampire with torments, who rescues the broken but strong willed heroine, Jess from death/suicide. He then tries to help her put her life back together. I adore Jess! She went through a very bad time but she is a survivor, strong and sensual at the same time. I loved Lord Mason from the first time I met him in the first book. To me he is a hero, sheltering and loving romantic but yet so dangerous and his dominance just pours out of his skin but yet Lord Mason is so patient and kind with Jessica. Visually Seeing him on his horses in a desert is so exotic and fascinating combined it will send shivers down your . This book is extremely well written, I was immersed for days, I had to soak in every word and cry (a lot) from all the emotions and tortures that Jess went through. I totally recommend this book to anyone needing Vampire’s in their life and If you want to start the Vampire Queen’s series, read this book first. I just cannot get enough.

I stayed up all night to finish this one. My love affair with all things Joey Hill continues.
Some readers may be uncomfortable with the BDSM content. I recommend starting at the beginning of the series. I might have been too overwhelmed by this book's content to enjoy it had I not gained perspective from previous installments.
Certainly the sex is hot, the plot creative, the writing style enthralling, but I think I enjoy the small things just as much. The metaphors, sometimes tender, sometimes dark. The subdued sense of humor. The conviction behind each character's voice. The author's obvious commitment to take the path less traveled.
I can never predict where the plot or characters will go. That's fun. The bonus is that I always seem to accept the ending, even though it isn't wrapped up in a perfect bow.
