I loved this short story of historical fiction. The mouse Amos is very witty and takes control. He had me laughing. You can hear his he accent when you read which make it that much more funny. This is an AR book, but is recommended for 6 th grade and up because of the vocabulary words. (I'm guessing)

My 11-year-old and I enjoyed reading this book together. She's a big fan of the Colonial Period of American history, and this funny take on Ben Franklin's role in American history had us both coming back for more. We loved it!

Do not say that book stunk ! I am almost finished with it but I had to give it back to my school ![ I was in the 5th grade and now Im in the 6th , Im young , and I like the book , by the way Im 11 Adults get it as well ! Although there is a little bit of history included , its mostly about a cute little mouse , you see, when its entitled Ben and Me' The Me is the mouse and how Benjamin Franklin helps it . There are ups and downs , but I was so ciked about this book that when I looked in the inside It said there was another book like it with Thomas Jefferson , I believe it was , I might be wrong though , Its really not about history in a boring way ! Its really not ! It brings you back drawing you into the time of his life explaining his best innventions , showing nobodys perfect and more , Get it Now ! Its not what you think ....

In my last few years of elementary school, learning felt like nothing but work, so I never did assignments AT ALL. The first one I completed in 5th grade was a book report on this book that all my classmates had to do. I loved this book! And I learned about Ben Franklin though I had never heard of him and didn't find out that he was an important historical charactor until a few years later. It was funny! ANd when I read about how Ben invented bifocal lenses and the Franklin Stove, I felt so proud and smart. I started this assignment because I wanted to see if I could be a good student, but after I few pages, it was painless and fun. I got my first A in elementary school on that report, and became open to the idea that writers and teachers can all teach them same concept but some do it in a fun, easily comprehensible way and others make it boring work. i.e. learning doesn't suck, just a few teachers and writers do. If your child doesn't like to read, has trouble in school, or simply has not been introduced to Ben, introduce them to this book. They'll learn how Ben discovered: that lightning is electricty, the Franklin stove, Bifocal lenses etc.) I'm 18 and(I'm not sure if I should be ashamed of this or not but...) almost everything I know about Ben Frankiln comes from this book.

This book was very informative. It gave a good plot and a well told story. In a way, it was difficult to be reading it from the mouse, Amos's, point of view. I would recommend this book to more advanced readers with a clearer perspective!!!
