    Remarks From The Author

I discovered the idea for this book while teaching fourth grade math. I introduced my students to the magic square - a very interesting mathematical puzzle. A magic square is a powerful tool for teaching kids basic addition skills. Each row, column, and diagonal adds up to the same sum. One effective way to use it is to omit a few numbers from the boxes, then have students/children try to figure out which numbers are missing. They'll first have to calculate the'magic sum'. The story is full of interesting anecdotes from Ben Franklin's amazing life! I'd recommend this for any history buff, any elementary-aged student, and anyone who is a Ben Franklin fanatic. If you have questions about the book, feel free to email me at subcactus@aol.com. Happy Reading!!!!
