Beneath A Tall Tree (name of book) was probably chosen because the book begins with a story and picks up as a genealogy family tree of her Adopted parents as well as her Birth mother genealogy. I read her first book "Birthright" and she seemed very resentful of her birth mother. This book gives a good insight of her life with her adopted parents and the adopted brother that was a Paranoid Schizoid. The author seems to have somewhat taken a better attitude toward her birth mother now but still reserved. She may have had nice adoptive parents but the adopted son seems to have tormented the author as child and it seems to me the adoptive parents should have caught on sooner and sent him away before he tormented Jean. The author seems afraid to accept the birth mother totally as it will make her feel that she is betraying the adopted parents.
