## WOW. Lord was an amazing hero. I absolutely loved him. I really liked the heroine too, but she did cry a bit much. They were great together. There wasn't really any conflict between them, just with other characters. I loved how in each of the books another man was interested in the heroine. In Con's book, Lucas wanted Vanessa. In Lord's book (this one), Rix wanted Elle. In Rix's story, Hennesey wanted Valentina. A little competition never hurts. Makes things interesting. I'm so dying for Hennesey's story. Please tell me he gets one. Fantastic series!

Woo, Lord! This novel is a great example of how two worlds collide, and how preconceived notions should be thrown out the window! Steamy love scenes, hilarious verbal sparring, and real emotion makes this story real to life. Never a dull moment!

Lord, who owns a pawn shop on the wrong side of town, is shocked to see his best friend’s girlfriend’s friend, Elle, walk into his stop one day and demand a job. She was assertive, confident, and all kinds of sexy, and completely blew his mind. Obvs he hired her, she started working there, and the story goes from there. “Sometimes you had to let yourself break before you could start picking up the pieces.” There’s a little bit of mystery, suspense, and a whole lot of sexy situations! Meghan March knows how to write her bad boys really bad and her sex scenes very sexy! This story was very enjoyable, probably my favorite of the entire series so far. I’m so happy this series is companion novels because I’ve really enjoyed getting to know these guys better! Lord took some time to grow on me. At first I thought he came off as very arrogant and entitled. But once he shed his bad-boy persona a bit into the story, I really started getting to know the “real” Lord. And this bad boy had a pretty good side too! My favorite thing about companion novel series is that you can start and stop, anywhere you’d like. They do not have to be read in order, and you’re not missing anything if you wait a long time between books. For me though, this didn’t end up being an issue since I got the first book, read it, then immediately read the second… which lead immediately to the third. I’m aware that a fourth book just came out, and there’s a fifth in the works… so I’m sure I’ll be reading both of those as well. Lord oh Lord!!! Beneath these Chains is the third book in the Beneath series and focuses on Lord, Con's brother, and Elle, Vanessa, Con's girlfriend's best friend. I absolutely loved Lord, even more than I loved Con. Wow!! He is a truly great guy and Elle is a truly lucky girl to have him in her corner!! I thought the story was very intriguing and well written, although I would have loved it even more if there was more focus on Lord's background. The book basically focused on Elle and what was going on in her life, and Lord being her rock through it all, and from the blurb, I honestly thought I would get more on Lord's background and all that he had to overcome to become the man that he is today. I also was disappointed in the turn that the story took. I did not expect it and didn't really think it was the best of turns, to be truthful. So, the lack of focus on Lord's background and the twist knocked Beneath these Chains from being a 5 star read to a 4 star read for me. Overall, very nicely done, Meghan March.

5 star I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, suspense, grief, and heartbreak. If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Beneath This Mask (Beneath #1) Beneath This Ink (Beneath, #2) This is Elle and Lord’s story. Elle needs to work at chains. She is looking for something and she hopes to find it working for Lord. When people get murdered all around them who could it be? Are they out to get them or just out to get the people that hurt them? The more Lord fires Elle and more he needs her. But can he keep her. Seems the whole neighborhood is out to get her. Lord has to keep her close. But Elle is determined to take care of herself. But can you fight an enemy that you don’t know if they are coming for you? When you do find out will it be who you suspected? Was it worth the pain? Can Lord protect her and will she still want him when she finally has what she came to the store for? Can these two find a middle ground to build a relationship on? I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

Elle shows up at Lord’s pawn shop demanding a job. Lord know she will be getting more than just a job if he hires her but eventually she gets what she wants and so does he. I enjoyed the story, I love the chemistry between Elle and Lord and the sex is hot. Great Read!

Once again I am blown away by the writing of Meghan March. The Beneath series has quickly become one of my favorites and I can’t say enough about the story, the characters, and everything else about this book. I think Lord and Elle are my new favorite couple from this series! We met both Lord and Elle in the previous book and although we learned a bit about Lord, we really didn’t know much about Elle. There is so much more to these two than meets the eye, and I loved watching their story unfold. Lord has bought the pawn shop from his brother Con and is trying to make it a success. In spite of a less than desirable upbringing, which led him to the service rather than prison, he has become a man of honor who values hard work and honesty. Elle’s “perfect” upbringing has been less than perfect, and she is fighting the demons from her past, starting with the loss of her father and then her mother’s less than supportive new husband. She’s haunted by an accident from her past and is afraid of losing control and turning into everything her mother has become. When Elle walks in to Lord’s pawn shop you could just feel the sparks between these two. I absolutely loved the way their love story unfolded and don’t think any other course of events would have worked for these two knowing their history. The mystery/suspense part of the book worked as well. The murders are piling up and they all seem to tie back to Lord and/or Elle. It was great to have Detective Hennessey working the case, and I loved having Rix, the local gang leader, be around to stir the pot. I have to say I was totally surprised by the ending with this one, which doesn’t happen too often, and what an ending it was. Watching the pieces fall in to place and the events unfold were written perfectly. It wasn’t dragged out but there was tons of emotion. This is one of my favorite reads so far this year and I cannot wait for the next book! Bring it on Meghan March! I received a copy of this book from the author/tour host for an honest review.

Lord Oh Lord Just when I thought no one could take Con's place in came Lord. I loved Elle and Lord's story and the added drama of Chains. The book grabbed me because I could put myself in Elles mindset which made it a more personal experience for me. The drama of what is going on around Lord and Elle will hit it big for mystery fans. Love Meghan March's writing style and will definitely be sad to see this series end as I've fallen in love with all the characters.

As a reader who goes through book boyfriends like Kleenex I finally found one that will be hard to forget courtesy of Ms. March! Lord, oh Lord, is he one sexy tatted-up pseudo-bad boy! He grew up in a world of rough people and rougher circumstances. Everything he's gotten in life he's had to work for or fight for. It's all left him a bit untrusting and a whole lot of jaded. Behind his gruffness though beats the heart of a loyal and caring man and it all adds up to one drool-worthy package. The day he fires a worker for stealing changes his life irrevocably as rich girl Elle walks through the door demanding a job. He's always been attracted to her but doesn't want to ruin his connection to his brother by lovin' and leavin' the best friend of his brother's girlfriend. With her so close every day, and danger coming ever closer to his front door, he can't help but give in to the temptation though. He's not interested in a one-night stand like most bad boys, but instead sets out to woo her in a sensual battle of wills that had me falling for him with every turn of the page. He's sexy but sweet, caring and willing to fight for those he cares for. His interactions with troubled teen Mathieu especially shows off his caring side. His interactions with Elle are scorching and ultimately lead to lots of steamy encounters that are sensual and playful. From start to finish he completely owned me. Elle's the stereotypical rich girl living large and trying to find a way to annoy her parents. Working at the pawn shop Chains seems like just the thing to annoy her family and gives her the extra joy of flirting with a truly sexy and compelling bad boy. She's not ready for a commitment-minded Lord though as she's just looking for fun. After seeing her mother become controlled by her step-father and seek refuge in alcohol, she wants no part of belonging to another. It's a merry chase she gets led on though by the determined Lord that finally has her caving in a richly rewarding way. When a battle between gangs, and a return of her past, collide she'll need Lord's strength more than ever. Elle's a strong-willed character who gives as good as she gets. She tells it like it is and fights for what she wants. For so long she's been judged on a superficial level but Lord shows her her true worth in some very sexy ways. When danger rears its ugly head her and Lord make a formidable team as their sexual connection solidifies into something stronger. From the first page to the last readers are taken on a sensual and suspenseful journey where the danger and romance are perfectly balanced. Lord is delectable and Elle his spunky temptation. Their first meeting is electric with every encounter thereafter crackling with sensuality and flirty banter. The side character of Mathieu brings wonderful humor to the story too and I long to see more of him. My only issue is the lack of deep talks and moments where Lord and Elle could find out more about each other. Their sexual connection is obvious but I wanted more. Ultimately though, readers looking for an exciting and sexy thrill ride, with no angst or big misunderstandings, will want to add this deliciously decadent book to their bookshelf.

Alpha male at his finest, Lord owns a a pawn shop that Elle walks into looking for work... Or so she says. She's really looking for a family heirloom cast carelessly aside by her step-brother. There are things that stand in the of the search. This book kept me guessing until the end!
