This daily devotional is comprised of brief readings on various topics of the faith.  "Benedictus" also serves as an introduction to the vast number of Pope Benedict XVI's works, or a consolidation of the same into a single book.  The readings are brief yet rich in wisdom and spiritually sound, inspiring reflection.  "Benedictus" follows the calendar year with a single meditation for each day.  The subject matter is not synchronized with the daily liturgy.  There is a full index where the meditations can be selected by title.  The source material and other works may be referenced using the bibliography.  The esthetics of the book complement it's content.  The page illustrations include fine art from the centuries with a full index describing each work, with the title, date and location.  The book pages are glossy stock that will hold up under use.  Two convenient bookmarks are included.
