The Berenstain Bears Get the Scaredies [NOOK Book]

Overview

When the lights go out, every Bear is afraid of something

Even in the sunny land of Bear Country, spooky sights lurk in the shadows. Some bears are scared of bugs, some of mice, some of the eerie pictures that flicker on the late-night television movie. For Papa Bear, the scariest thing in the world comes in the mailbox: bills! But whenever Brother, Sister, Papa, or Mama ...

But whenever Brother, Sister, Papa, or Mama gets scared, someone in the family is there to turn on the light switch and show that everything is all right.

In this delightful Berenstain Bears poem, the Bears learn never to make fun of someone else's fears, because the next time the lights go off, you could be the scaredy-bear!

CHAPTER 1

Ugh! Ugh! A great big bug!

Scaredy-bear! Scaredy-bear! You're much bigger than that bug.

Help! Help! A scary show!

Scaredy-bear! Scaredy-bear! There's no need to be scared. It's just a show.

Help! Help! What's chasing after me?

Scaredy-bear! Scaredy-bear! It's just a shadow that you see!

A clutching hand! A clutching hand is grabbing me!

Scaredy-bear! Scaredy-bear! That clutching hand is just a tree.

Oh! Oh! It's dark up there!

Scaredy-bear! Scaredy-bear! I snap the switch. Now it's light up there.

Yowl! Yowl! Tow big eyes are looking at me!

Scaredy-bear! Scaredy-bear! Now, now. That's just a great big hooty owl.

Good ness gracious! Bills! Bills! Addressed to me!

Scaredy-bear! Scaredy-bear! That's just money that you owe. I know. I know.

I purchased the eBook version of this book for my 6 year old grand daughter. With the Nook Tablet, we were able to use the recording
feature to record it while reading it. My grand daughter LOVED this feature. Since her grandpa wasn't with me during my visit, she read
the story and recorded it for him so he could hear how well she could read. She even re-recorded a couple of pages that she didn't like on
the first recording. We had a lot of fun with it. In terms of content, I'm very careful about Halloween books I purchase to make sure there
isn't anything that is too scary. This book fit the criteria perfectly. I do agree with the previous reviewer that it was quite a bit shorter than most of the Berenstain Bears I've purchased in the past. That is the only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5.
