Meet the Author

Stan and Jan Berenstain introduced the first Berenstain Bear books in 1962. Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too.  Though Stan died in 2005, and Jan in 2012, Mike continues to create the delightful Bear adventures from their studio in Pennsylvania, in an area that looks much like the sunny dirt road deep in Bear Country.

    more from this reviewer

    great kids book, great story!

I remember the Berenstain Bears' books from when I was a kid. I loved them and was excited to share them with my kids. So when story time came around the kids ran to the couch and snuggled up for a book. I brought out The Berenstain Bears' Gossip Gang and pointed out the character and then read the book. The kids loved the pictures and the characters and even asked me to re read it!

The Berenstain Bears' Gossip Gang has a great message on how it hurts to gossip about others and how it can hurt friendships in the process. It's a great lesson.

Since then it's been a favorite and we were at the store recently and my son saw a Berenstain Bears' book and got all excited. There is nothing better than a kid who loves to read or be read too.

A nice way to teach your children about the perils of gossiping.

    Gossip is...

Gossip is hurting other peoples feelings but Sister bear did the right thing to not gossip about other cubs(people) and while they were gossiping ,Sister walked away.
