Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Skip the careless intro (in which editor Bright has Lady Chatterly's sic Lover first appearing in Switzerland in 1946--off by 18 years and some 200 miles!) and go for the stories themselves, a varied, substantial, sometimes disturbing, and almost always arousing selection. Some are excerpts from well-known works such as Nicholson Baker's Vox ( LJ 11/15/91). Others have appeared in periodicals far outside the mainstream and cater to most of the major persuasions. Two short, sweet standouts: ``Why'' by Bob Flanagan and ``Five Dimes'' by Anita ``Melissa'' Mashman. Highly recommended for public libraries that can take the heat.-- Grove Koger, Boise P.L., Id.
