    Highly recommended

This is the best map of Great Smoky Mountain National Park for roads and trails. The topo lines are small, but for the average medium difficulty trail hiker, it has sufficient information to judge the slope of a trail, where the trail leads, and how to get there. It feels like it's plastic coated; in any case it is durable. The book gives a lot of detail about the trails it features. The trails we tried were a little harder than the book rated, but we were pleased with our choices. Some of these trails are pretty difficult, but the book acknowledges that they are included because of their popularity.
