Canterwood Crest: Best Enemies (Book 5)

Here is yet another example of Jessica Burkhart's natural talent and voice. Canterwood Crest: Best Enemies is the fifth book in the Canterwood Crest Series. It combines horses, drama, and lip gloss together in a way that catches the reader and draws them in instantly. It is entertaining, absorbing, and funny. Jessica Burkhart's unique and captivating voice brings the CC characters to life. The CC girls are relatable and fascinating with real-life problems, thoughts, actions, and situations. Every character is unique and fun. This book is the perfect recipe with a mix of good characters, fun horses, and drama filled situations (but always with a touch of humor). Jessica Burkhart may easily be one of best tween/teen writers in the world. She really knows how to make the books fun, yet dramatic; serious, yet funny; horsey, yet not overly horsey. She has an amazing gift and writes with a voice that will take you over and draw you in effortlessly. I always am excited for the next book and they have never failed to thrill me. Here is my take on Canterwood Crest: Best Enemies:

12-year-old Sasha Silver has just patched up every last hole in her troubled life at the elite Canterwood Crest Academy. She is not lying, keeping secrets, or having issues with riding. Everything is perfect. Until she senses some suspicious behavior. She pushes that away and tests for the YENT, or Youth Equestrian National Team. Of the five other people on the advanced team with her, two have cheated on a test and were banned from riding. They deny it and Sasha kind of believes them. The others all have fancy training and are great riders. After the testing is over Sasha discovers a secret that could destroy her newly perfected life. Will Sasha make the YENT? More importantly, who and what is this confession about? Find out the answers in Canterwood Crest: Best Enemies.

This is one of my favorite CC book yet. It's just too perfect in the beginning, until Sasha starts to worry about numerous things. But it is nice to see the happy side of Sasha, yet it isn't the whole book so there is still drama. I am positive you will love this book as much as me. I would recommend this book to girls, ages 9-15. Even if you aren't horse crazy I bet you will love this book! Seek your answers in Canterwood Crest: Best Enemies!

    Meet Jasmine

Jessica burkhart couldn't put it in a better way: Jas makes Heather look tame. Watch out Sasha, Jasmine is beyond mean. She's cruel. With the YENT (Youth Equestrian National Team) tryouts coming up and finals, Sasha is superstressed. Wil everything be okay in the end?

    Amazing!!!!

Best Enemies was, like the rest of the series, absolutely fabulous! I can't get Sasha's story out of my head, and the books are highly addictive! I read them in a couple hours, and then spend the next 2 months re-reading them, until the next ones come out!
The covers are adorable, and Jessica makes it easy to follow the stories with her Blogspot Blog, where she posts almost everyday.
I would recommend it to almost anyone!!!!!!

    A delightful read

Sasha and her team are about to compete for a spot on the YENT team. They're desperately trying to practice as much as possible, but also attempting to balance school (including finals), friends, and boys. Now that the secret's out, Eric and Sasha gear up for their first date at the movies. They run into Jacob and Callie, where awkward vibes ruin their chances at ever double dating. Eric and Sasha can't even make it through the movie without wanting to chat with each other. since they've moved from friends to a couple, sitting in silence doesn't work for them. But Sasha's about to get the surprise of her life as they move their date somewhere else. Sasha's trying hard not to freak out too much about the competitions and keep a level head when it comes to school work and also Jasmine. Jas spends her time trash talking the rest of the team and playing mind games. Sasha can't help rise to the bait a few times, but will she let Jas get into her head on the big day? Will Sasha be spending the summer at a grueling training session with YENT or back home at her small town stables?

The fifth book in the series adds more drama, romance, and friendship gets back on track with the reuniting of Sasha and her BFF. I adore the first date scene - including the prep time for the date. I'd love to go to this school - but I might not like dealing with Heather and Jas. A great series all around - pure entertainment with super cute covers.

    Queen Bee at Canterwood

Jas is fake, but so is Heather. Both girls act like they're the Queen Bee at Canterwood. That's me, as you know. So buy the book. Keep in mind I'M the Queen.

    What!? Ur in trouble, Burkhart...

Wow. I have just finished reading this book and i am breathless.

If u r reading this review and u havent read the series before, u might wanna stop reading it bc its gonna spoil some/most of the things. My advice for you, read it, exept definitley start with the first book. I swear you will get hooked and follow sasha along her journey. You'll love it. But stop reading this review if u haven't read the series bc, yes i'll admit, its a spoiler.

Now i must write. I mean type. But anyway, i cannot believe that callie didn't make iy! Who will sasha go to when she needs someone? Callie won't be there. Eric won't either. Only heather and jasmine. (Plz note i will NVR call jasmine jas, bc she doesn't deserve a nickname, just like she does't deserbe a spot on the YENT team.) And then there's jacob. Ugh i am FED UP with him! How dare he just play video games with sasha when they were together, ditch sasha for callie, try to prove he's a better boyfriend than eric and insult horseback riding and in the process treat callie way less than she deserved by blowing off her date last minute, and then in the end COMPLETELY THROW CALLIE TO THE SIDE DITCHING HER AND SAYING (AFTER ALL THE ABOVE) HE WANTS SASHA BBAAAAACCCCVKKK!!!!!!!!!! UGH DIP UR HEAD IN A PILE OF CHARM'S HIRSE POOP, JACOB!!! OH BUT U CAN'T CAUSE UR AFRAID OH POOR JAKEE JAKE? HMPF! callie, heather, maybe inly jasmine deserves a guy like u. AND WE ALL KNOW THAT ERIC AND SASHA GOT FURTHER THEN JACOB AND SASHA EVER DID, BC THEY DESERVE EACH OTHER? HMPF. Sorry about all that. Sigh. I went all out there. But is anyone else fed up with this guy called jacob? I hope he nvr sees sasha OR callie again. Sigh then its bck to callie. Shes ginna have such a hard time! Number1: no YENT and her BFF is going. And jacobs not there fo her and she won't ever know. I wanna throw up but at the same time read on.

Btw is anyone else a little (actually a lot) dissapointed that in the series jessica burkhart writes sbout a differdnt girl and the drama all overvagain? Im gonna miss sadha and charm. :(

So yup im done thx for reading the longest thing ever posted ;)

OMG! Best Enemies is awesome! I can't believe Jacob was actually brave enough to tell Sasha that he still likes her!!!!!!!!!!<3 Callie would of made it to the YENT team if Jasmin King wouldn't go! I can't wait to read the 6th book!
