Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Anita Barnes Lowen
It is spring in Camden Falls and the end of the first year that orphaned sisters, Flora and Ruby, have spent with their grandmother. It is a busy spring full of endings and beginnings for the many people who live in this small town: 6th grade graduation, the Fong's soon-to-arrive baby, Sincerely Yours (the new store where Robert will start his first job), and the 350th anniversary of the founding of Camden Falls. Flora is looking forward to the much anticipated visit of her old best friend, Annika. Olivia, Flora's newest best friend, is less than thrilled about Annika's pending visit. Ruby is the star of The Witches of Camden Falls, a play based on an unfortunate period in the town's history. Nikki has her fingers crossed that her art work will win a prize and desperately hopes that her abusive father is out of the picture forever. This third volume in the "Main Street" series is an enjoyable glimpse of busy small town life. Hints of mysteries uncovered by Flora but left unsolved will leave fans eagerly waiting to find out what happens in the next volume. Reviewer: Anita Barnes Lowen

I just can't stop reading these delightful stories! BEST FRIENDS is the fourth book in the MAIN STREET series, and it wraps up the first year Flora and Ruby have in Camden Falls.

Annika, Flora's best friend from her old life, is coming to visit. She will be there for the 350th anniversary celebration of the town. There will be a parade, a play where Ruby is the star, and many contests.

Flora has written a book of interviews of the older people in Camden Falls, Olivia has entered photos of native wildlife, and Nikki has entered her art, which is a first for the Sherman family. Flora is so excited to have all her best friends together at the same place -- until it actually happens and they all seem to hate each other.

These books are very simple but very entertaining. These girls have modern problems that most girls have, but are in no way boring. I love this series and can't wait for the next one.

    Chasing my past

Im sitting alone in the dark room. I should be thinking about whats going to happen o me but all i can think about is him. His kiss. His eyes. The w it feels when i am wrapped up in his arms and hes holding me close. I love him.
The door slams open and i hold onto my memory of him. The drag me out of my cell. I refuse to cry even though i know what is waiting for me on the other side of the door. I have to tell this town what i did. I ki.lled the prince.
I should feel bad but i dont. They tried to take my love away from me. They hit me till my vivion was black and fuzzy. I didnt know anything about the treasure they said was burried in my land. They hurt him. The prince hit him until he was coughing up blood and still they hit him. I had to. I had to save him. I couldnt let him die

    Read this series!!!!!

The first three books were absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!!! It talks about real life problems and to accept friends even if there family isn't well liked. It is a book that all ages 9-99 can read! It only took me about 3 weeks to read the first three books . I don't know if I can wait till April for the fourth book to come out. I'll keep myself occupied by reading Ann M. Martin's amazing books!
