Meet the Author

Richard Labonté lives some of the time in a wee Perth, Ontario apartment, and some of the time in a sprawling 10-bedroom farmhouse on 200 acres of land near Calabogie, Ontario. From 1979 to 2000, he helped found and then managed A Different Light Bookstores in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. He has edited the Best Gay Erotica series since 1996; reviews 100 books a year for Q Syndicate, which distributes his fortnightly column “Book Marks”; writes the newsletter Books to Watch Out For/Gay Men's Edition; and writes book reviews for Publishers Weekly.

James Lear is the nome-de-plume of noted writer and BBC journalist Rupert Smith. His previous novels include I Must Confess, Back Passage, Hot Valley and The Palace of Varieties. He currently resides in London.
