Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
As with many "find it" books, this one, too, will delight young children and put them in a "spooky" mood for Halloween. The rebus format involves the child in reading the text and will add to their enjoyment. The illustrations are colorful and filled with lots of monstrously funny pictures that children will love to discover. Based on the title of the book, I anticipated a long, challenging search for hidden items, but found myself somewhat disappointed when all of the items hidden as part of the scavenger hunt were found without much effort. As a result, this book is best suited to younger children who have not yet developed a sharp eye. Older children who are accustomed to the more intricate "find it" books may still find the book entertaining, despite the fact that it is not as challenging, since it also contains some activities, such as mazes, batty bats and other Halloween fun. 2000, Scholastic, $3.25. Great Book

This is a cute Halloween book for kids. You have to read the rebus and look for the various hidden Halloween treats, pumpkins and the spooky creatures that are hidden in the pictures. You start out at school, then its off into the city, on the way to the country, all the way to Grandmas house, off to her garden, then back in the car off to the school, the haunted house and then to the parade. This is a great book for finding items hidden in the pages.
