Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Despite the “Best” title, most of these stories are both previously unpublished and competently built but not particularly notable, lacking the narrative punch that romantic vignettes need to create character, build tension, and satisfyingly release it in such a short format. The strongest pieces are Sacchi Green’s “Sgt. Rae,” which dances through themes of military dominance, power, and disability in an intensely erotic eight-page package; Joey Bass’s “Color of Autumn,” which probes the inside of a schoolgirl fascination; and Andrea Dale’s “The Last Rays of the Summer Sun,” a hilariously sexy game of forfeits that captures the playfulness of a happy longtime couple. Longtime author and editor Radclyffe (Crossroads) has created a very safe, unchallenging collection for mainstream lesbians looking to see themselves in gentle stories of women who win love when they become brave enough to take a chance. (Feb.)
From the Publisher
"Woven into these pages are stories of new love, old loves, new passion and lots more besides."
Lesbians North London

"Radclyffe gives readers such a variety with her choices of stories that each reader will be able to find one that speaks to her and resonates with her feelings and experiences."
Lambda Literary Review

Praise for the previous edition:

"Packed with over two dozen utterly scintillating stories that will unlock your secret desires and whet your sexual appetite."
—Insight Out Book Club

"The collection does a good job capturing the dizzying sensation of falling in love, and Radclyffe’s curating does a nice job slowly raising the heat to a culminating sizzle."
—EDGE

"This is a collection to melt the hardest heart . . . All of these stories are real treasures."
—Kissed by Venus

"I really cannot think of anyone better suited to edit this collection of lesbian romantic short stories. Radclyffe has done a wonderful job of selecting the 17 stories that make up this anthology. Every kind of love is here and there is something for everyone and every taste."
—Amos Lassen

"In this sizzling new treasury, erotica maestro Radclyffe has assembled over two dozen titillating tales of lesbian couples taking each other to new heights of happily bedded bliss. Imagination and experimentation are the key that unlocks the hearts of these lesbian love stories and every kind of love you CAN imagine are told in stories redolent of romance, risk-taking, and, even gobsmackingly surprising true love. There are virgins, long-time companions, and very memorable one-night stands."
—Erotica Readers and Writers Association

“The setting sun burned red through my sliders. She gently bounced the edge of her wine glass off her lip as she returned my gaze, and I was jealous of the lipstick print her mouth left on the rim.” -- Charlotte Dare, The Bucket List

“I was utterly charmed and fascinated by the tiny furrow between her brows as she considered a question. I fell besotted and breathless once again with the curve of her collarbone, the dusky hardness of her nipples, the rounded pooch of her belly, the softness of her inner arm as I stroked it with my fingertips.
I felt dizzy with desire in a way I’d forgotten, and hadn’t realized I’d forgotten until now.” Andrea Dale, Last Rays of the Summer Sun
