Meet the Author

John Kulka is executive editor-at-large at Harvard University Press and lives in Connecticut.

Natalie Danford is a freelance writer and book critic whose work has appeared in People, Salon, the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Sun-Times, and many other publications. She is the author of a novel, Inheritance, and lives in New York City.

John Casey is a recipient of the National Book Award, for his novel Spartina. He received a MacArthur Grant in 1992 and is now a professor of English Literature at the University of Virginia. He lives in Charlottesville.

    Fantastic reading

    The writers here are indeed among the best I've encountered lately. Their voices are fresh and energetic, and the stories in this volume are often funny and deeply moving.
