    I Also Recommend:

    Less than stellar

Usually I have nothing but good things to say about the "Best New American Voices" series. Not this year. It's like all the stories chosen where assigned to writes about a topic. Everyone wanted to write about a dead or almost dead father/wife. It was a chore to finish the book and I only liked maybe 3 stories. I never understood why many writers are against MFA programs until today. There was no creativity in their stories. The writing was wonderful, but it just didn't draw me in. I beg you to wait until this edition is in the sales bin before you buy it.
