All Music Guide - Jason Ankeny
Though by no means definitive, the fifth volume in BMG's multi-part, budget-line overview of the big band sound of the 1940s is still a good introduction to the swing era -- while the omission of liner notes is endlessly frustrating, the overall sound quality is strong, and perennials like Frank Sinatra's "Night and Day," Artie Shaw's "It Had to Be You" and Duke Ellington's "Do Nothin' Till You Hear from Me" never go out of style.
