Best of British Blues, Vol. 2 collects more songs from British blues acts, including the Yardbirds' "I'm a Man," the Small Faces' "Every Little Bit Hurts," the Animals' "Let It Rock," and Cyril Davies' "Someday Baby." The collection does a good job of spanning the style's beginnings, which coincided with the British Invasion, and also follows its evolution into a more purely blues-based form, exemplified by Eric Clapton's "Tribute to Elmore" and Albert Lee's "The Next Milestone." Meanwhile, Peter Green's "A Fool No More," Van Morrison's "Who Drove the Red Sportscar," and Humble Pie's radical reworking of "For Your Love" provide some of the other standout moments on this collection. While it's not particularly deep, Best of British Blues, Vol. 2 does cover a lot of territory in early British blues.
