In 1947, the BBC Jazz Camp, a series of weekly jazz radio programs in England, came into being, lasting at least into the mid-'60s. During 1995-1997, the Upbeat label came out with six CDs of previously unreleased performances by a variety of top British trad jazz bands. The first set has seven numbers from trumpeter Ken Colyer's 1953-1954 band, which featured trombonist Chris Barber and clarinetist Monty Sunshine; eight from clarinetist Acker Bilk & His Paramount Jazz Band in 1960; and four from Bob Wallis' Storyville Jazz Men in 1962.
