Like the European adventurers who ransacked the new world in the past, De Lune continues to plunder world music for their own gain -- venturing east in this summation of material from their trilogy of Buddha, Karma, and Krishna Beats. As it transpires, this geographic connection proves tentative at best, with the 24 tracks peppered with curiously world-music-free chill-out standards from Kinobe, Moby, and Alex Gopher. That said, there are plenty of less-well-known sleepers amongst the contributions from Lune regulars Al-pha X, Christophe Goze, and Zero 7 keyboard supremo Neil Cowley's Fragile States -- cuts from Gotan Project, Bonobo, Badmarsh, and Shri all raising their proverbial heads above the parapet. Highlights, however, come from the spectacular homegrown Dust, whose "Dead Cowboys" is beamed in direct from Death Valley, and the long-lost "Soft Music Under Stars" from Fila Brazillia, which resonates with quality some years after its release.
