Overview

It's doubtful that this is the best Cajun collection ever assembled, but it does a good job of showing the two main tenets of what makes Cajun music tick, namely that Cajun is first and foremost a dance music, and its strongest pop affiliation is to traditional country, both attributes clearly on display in songs here like Johnny Sonnier's country waltz "Paul Diegle on the Jukebox" and Sammy Naquin's fiddle-funky "Meeko the Cajun." ~ Steve Leggett
