KLIATT - KLIATT Review
This book includes an inspiring spectrum of styles and innovative designs from the past ten years of Interweave Knits. Thirty different scarves, stoles, sweaters, vests, jackets and totes that have all stood the test of time are included in this comprehensive and informative book. Projects range from simple to challenging and from trendy to classic. The instructions are written in clear language, leading the readers step-by-step through every aspect of knitting and finishing, ensuring success even for relatively new knitters. More difficult projects include a special information section, "Beyond the Basics"--technique columns that provide additional detailed instructions necessary to complete each project. All projects include an introductory paragraph, detailed information about the type of yarn required, needle sizes, additional notions, gauge, finished size, detailed instructions and a beautiful full-color photograph of the finished garment along with enlarged details. Some of the items are: Lotus Blossom Tank, Icarus Shawl, Man's Brioche Vest, and Pearl Buck Spring Jacket. A glossary provides additional detailed information. Budd and Allen have been editors of Interweave Magazine and involved in the world of fiber for many years. Age Range: Ages 12 to adult. REVIEWER: Shirley Reis (Vol. 42, No. 1)
