Overview

Curb's 2004 release The Best of Jack Scott opens up with two slick latter-day re-recordings of two of Scott's biggest hits -- "What in the World's Come Over You" and "Burning Bridges" -- before it settles into a selection of 13 recordings that Scott recorded for Carlton between 1958 and 1960. While this is prime Scott, it doesn't contain two of his signature songs from the Carlton era -- neither "Leroy" or "The Way I Walk" are here. So, this is a mixed bag, although better than a set of nothing but re-recordings. That's good enough to make this a worthwhile impulse purchase if it's picked up at a good price.
