Overview

Shirley Thompson was a trend setter in the field of quilting patterns. Her books, 'The Finishing Touch' and 'It's Not a Quilt Until It's Quilted', set the standard for all the quilting pattern books that followed. This new compilation of designs is only a small sampling of the wide range of patterns from Shirley's seven books of patterns. From miniatures to continuous lines, Shirley had them all. The larger blocks have been reduced to a standard 8 inch presentation size in the 12 x 9 book format. Some patterns ...

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
Shirley Thompson started designing quilting designs over 25 years ago and published seven books. Her first titles were for hand quilters, but she was a trendsetter in developing continuous-line patterns to be stitched by hand or machine. Cheryl Barnes is a professional long-arm quilter and in this book she has collected together over 200 patterns selected from Shirley's published designs. The patterns have been digitised so that they are symmetrical and resized to fit... -Popular Patchwork

Meet the Author

With a love of hand needlework of all types from early childhood, Cheryl Barnes discovered machine quilting and purchased a longarm machine in 1994. She began her own quilting business, Golden Threads, at that time. After quilting for several years, Cheryl felt limited by the lack of new patterns available to longarm quilters. The pursuit of building a library of quilting designs took Cheryls company from quilting to publishing quilting designs.

    Nice patterns for continuous quilting.

This is a great book with over 100 pages of instruction, hints, designs, and details for help in quilting your own projects. The designs are not too intricate but detailed enough to add much charm to your completed projects. Designs may be enlarged or shrunk to your needs and include starting and stopping points for continuous machine quilting. I'm glad I found this book to add to my collection of patterns.
