Sometimes it takes a couple of tries before you get love right.

Counting on Love, Book 3

Emma Dixon is known for getting in over her head—and having a great time doing it. She’s aware her shenanigans rub Nate Sullivan the wrong way, but getting a rise out of the cocky surgeon is one of her favorite pastimes. Truth be told, exasperated looks aren’t the only things she wants from the guy.

Nate has no intention of taking another trip down the falling-in-love road. Women are carefully compartmentalized—to his bedroom. Women who don’t mind his take-charge tendencies. Women very different from sassy, sexy, independent Emma.

But his usual strategy of arguing with Emma to keep from kissing her goes out the window when his son falls in love with her friend’s daughter. Emma sees a normal teenage romance. Nate sees his plans for the boy’s future ruined.

As Nate tries to derail the relationship, Emma runs interference, putting herself directly in the path of the chemistry that grows stronger every time they butt heads. And that could very well lead to the best surprise of all.

Warning: Contains a guy who knows exactly who he is and what he wants and a girl who’s going to change his mind about, well, everything. Plus inappropriate use of chocolate cake (of course, that depends on your definition of inappropriate).

This series must be read in order. The first book is She's the One (Counting on Love). The second book is It Takes Two (Counting on Love). This is the third book. I want to be clear... I LOVE this series...But I had a love/hate relationship with this installment. From almost the beginning I HATED Nate! I wanted to set him on fire and throw things at him. I adore the Emma character and could not understand why she didn't just douse Nate in alcohol and light a match! That said this is an awesome book about the transformative powers of love and all the crazy things it makes you do in between :) Each book in this series is heartwarming and funny (not to mention steamy). I really enjoy getting to know the hidden alternate sides of the characters you wouldn't normally see. I can say with complete connlfidence that they are NEVER boring. In the case of this book I would say they can be at times annoying and aggravating but that was part of the charm. You see two people together and think ... Ummm no. They WILL kill each other... But they both become the perfect person for the other and you are left sitting there wondering how did that even happen?! This series is truly awesomeness and I will be very sad when it is over. The Dixon family feels like family to me and I really enjoy every new chapter in their lives. Who knows maybe if enough fans beg the author might just be persuaded to write a companion series about some of the minor characters from the town and we will never have to say good bye :) Stranger things have happened! Personally now that I am done writing this review I am going to go start the next book Going for Four (Counting on Love)! ***This series is suitable for adult readers

Emma Dixon is the life of the party. You never know what she will do, with whom or what will come out of her mouth. A car accident has sidelined Emma but she’s ready to get back in the game & wants to start with Nate Sullivan. Dr. Nate Sullivan is raising his 18 year old son, Michael. When Michael falls in love with Shannon, Emma’s “little sister” Emma tries to shield Shannon from Nate and his stalking tendencies. Emma & Nate have an explosive chemistry that they are attempting to avoid. When the chemistry can’t be ignored – sparks fly. I enjoyed the push & pull between the characters.

Everything you like about Erin Nicholas' books, you get in this series as well!  Love the interactions between the sisters, and Conner!  Can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series!

I have read this series twice and by far this is my favorite book in the series. This partly stems from my love/hate of Emma's character. On one hand I love her because she is a little wild and crazy and on the other hand I think she sometimes fails to put other peoples feelings ahead of her own. I felt this way from the small parts she had in books one and two. Book three however was her story and what was a love/hate relationship is now a full on love relationship. Emma's character is a little misunderstood my her friends and family and I think for her it was finding the right balance in life and in order to do that she needed to find her better half in life that evened out the scales. I love Nate because he is that controlling guy but he can completely lose that caveman mentality when he is with Emma, the one he loves. I don't normally read books more than once but I would read this one a third time just because I love their story so much. I can't wait for updates on their relationship in the fourth and fifth book in the series.

This was Nate and Emma's story and it was AMAZING!!! Emma wants Nate...BAD, and she makes no secret about it. Nate, on the other hand, has been hurt in the past. He wants Emma too but he's still leery. The chemistry between the doctor and the party girl/yoga instructor is explosive. His life is all about control and Emma's not easily controlled. Can they figure out their feelings before everything falls apart or will it be too late? I was definitely looking forward to reading this book and I was NOT disappointed! I was happy, laughing, and surprised some times and then I was sad at other times. This story is sizzling hot and sexy! This is a great circle of friends and I can't wait to read more about them. I adore this Counting on Love series by Erin Nicholas.

This is an amazing series! I absolutely loved book one and two and had high hopes for three. And boy, it didn't disappoint. I love an Alpha hero and Erin Nicholas wrote this Alpha perfectly. Early in this series I knew sparks would fly when Nate and Emma stopped fighting their attraction. Emma is a force to be reckoned with. Nate was a man that thought the last thing he needed in his life was someone who was a force to be reckoned with. :D Emma is a free spirit who pretty much does the opposite of what everyone wants her to do. The only exception, Nate. You can only imagine when independent, free spirited Emma and the bossy, seemingly uninterested Nate get together. Woo Hoo! Powder keg! Erin Nicholas is my go-to author. I don't read blurbs or excerpts anymore. I know if Erin Nicholas has written it, I am going to love it. I absolutely love her voice and her ability to make meet feel part of the story not just an observer. I also love that there is an ease and comfort when reading her novels. I cannot wait for the scheduled book 4 and 5! And I am equally excited to find out what else Erin has up her sleeve.

This book is awesome! This is the third book in the Counting on Love series, and although I love them all, this is my absolute favorite so far. Yes, if you haven’t already guessed, I am an Erin Nicholas addict and can never get enough. She has such a wonderful way of making you a part of her stories. You will feel like you are right there alongside all of her characters while you are reading. One thing I really love about Erin’s stories is that no matter what kind of mood I happen to be in they will always cheer me up because they make me laugh out-loud and even cry, sometimes I yell at the characters, and other times I’m really hoping everything will work out perfectly. Every book in the series can be read as a stand-alone title, but I recommend reading them in order so that you get acquainted with all the friends and family that are involved in each of the books. Emma Dixon does not want to be compared to her three sisters, so she will do almost anything that will draw attention to herself. There are many things that are rumored about her that are not the truth at all, but she does not do anything to set them straight. She has hid her feelings for Nate Sullivan for years, and she is a major flirt with all the guys she knows. But the flirting is one thing that drives Nate absolutely crazy. Nate is a trauma surgeon at St. Anthony’s Hospital, and he plays defensive back for the Omaha Hawks. He’s also a single parent who has no intentions of dealing with relationships and the possibility of falling in love. Emma has been driving him nuts for a few years now, but he knows he is too controlling for her among other things and must do anything to keep from getting too close to her.  Nate’s son has fallen in love with the daughter of Emma’s best friend. He is determined to make sure that Michael and Shannon are not doing anything they should not be at their age, or that could ruin his plans for Michael’s future. Emma knows they are just acting like two teens in love but Nate does not believe that for one second, so she decides to prove to him that the teens are fine. Sparks start to fly as Emma tries to keep Nate away from the teens, and they grow closer than either one of them ever expected. Will a relationship bloom between them? Or will Nate walk away when he no longer needs Emma’s help with his son?

I so looked forward to this book.  Emma and Nate were both so different but also so alike.  On the surface they are total opposites but underneath they are more alike than not.  I can so relate to that as that is the way my DH and I are.  Nate needed to loosen up and Emma needed to slow down and they meet in the middle.  This is a fun, sexy read and a great addition to the Counting on Love series.  This can be read stand-alone but I bet you will want to read the others.

I totally love Erin's books and will drop all the other books to read hers.  And Best of Three was another winner for me.  I love this series and now this book.  Nate is so alpha and hot.  Emma is sassy, funny and strong.  They complement each other perfectly.  I loved their chemistry and their bantering back and forth.   Erin did get me towards the end, emotionally.  I felt my short temper start to rise.  But of course it all worked out in a very heartwarming way.  I look forward to seeing a little more of Nate and Emma in the rest of the books in the series.  With Erin's books, she always seems to throw in a little extra something fun food wise and she did not disappoint this time.  She took my favorite dessert (chocolate cake) and oh momma used it in a very not way.  It will be a long time before I look at a chocolate cake and not remember its intended purpose for this book.  That was freaking sexy!
