I am a recent college graduate and had little experience in my resume. This book showed me that just because I may not have professional experience, I can still use what I've learned in college to my advantage. I used bits and pieces of different sample resumes and constructed my own. My resume now showcases my talents by focusing on courses and class projects that revolve around my career. They also give tips on cover letters which was a HUGE help. I went to career services at my college and although they helped me with my resume, I still wasn't getting any calls from potential employers. Desperate, I went to banes and noble and picked up this book. My new resume is amazing. I am so proud of my resume that I went back to career services to show them how my resume had basically been transformed, and they were quite impressed. The book is organized by steps in creating a resume and different resumes used for different careers. It is great for undergrads looking for internships, college grads looking for their first job, and graduate students seeking advanced employmenr. I used to receive 0-1 callbacks a month with my old resume but after this book I now receive 4-8. I've let so many friends borrow the book and all have been just as successful as I have.

I am fresh out of grad school and searched high and low for a helpful resume guide. This book addressed all my concerns and helped me write a creative resume that highlighting my unconventional and diverse experience. It has useful advice for job seekers with gaps in their job history, who have been working in academia and need to transition to "the real world"; it addresses cover letters, offers samples for a broad range of degree holders and specific jobs sought, and resume advice for non-traditional college students. Samples are written by a surprising number of different professional resume writers and they discuss the strategies used. This book gave me motivation to move forward, even in a scary job market! Would make a great graduation gift for any college student.
