Overview

For more than a decade, BESTFEEDING has been recognized by midwives, doctors, and nursing mothers as the definitive word on breastfeeding. The culmination of 60-plus years of hands-on experience from three dedicated and internationally respected authors, this newly updated classic blends academic knowledge, clinical expertise, and practical skills to educate first-time and experienced mothers alike. In addition to the basics, mothers will find tried-and-true solutions to both common and more unusual problems, as well as remedies for babies with special needs. With its sensitive and informed advice, BESTFEEDING is a supportive reminder of what women have always known: that breastfeeding is, quite simply, the best way to nourish a baby.

so useful for every new baby

This book was a life saver for me! My bfirst son was colic. Who would have thought that although he was not lactose intolerant he could not handle the milk I was drinking? This book helped me to narrow down the solution to my problem. It is very clear and written simply with real mom stories. I have gotten it for every new breastfeeding mom I know!

    more from this reviewer

    This is an excellent reference!

As a first time mom, I am anticipating some rough patches on the road to smooth breastfeeding. This book is very clear, concise, and supportive when it comes to descriptions for how to 1. establish breastfeeding effectively and 2. how to overcome any obstacles that may arise. Partnered (or instead of) with the La Leche League's reference, this will make a phenominal addition to any permanent library. Even if you do not plan to breastfeed for the advocated 2+yrs, at the very least this reference will help you get through smoothly for as long as you are willing and able... establishing a wonderful basis for the rest of your baby's life.
