Overview

Mama thinks everyone is special, but Bethany knows better. All of her friends can do fun and amazing things that she, a plain, little ladybug can only envy.

When Jealousy causes Bethany to accidentally leave her garden home, she meets Brother Jacob, a praying mantis, who tells her that she is special and that God has a plan and a purpose for every life.

As Bethany's adventure begins, Beau, a sassy, self-assured blackbird, discovers her hiding in a berry patch. When he hears of her dilemma, Beau feels an obligation to lead her on a journey to learn God's purpose for her life.

Will Bethany discover her purpose? Will she learn why ladybugs are special? Will she find her way back to her beautiful garden home? Or will an ancient enemy destroy all that she holds dear?

This read-aloud, bedtime, chapter book will entertain your child, while teaching the importance of friendship, individuality and working together to achieve a goal.

Meet the Author

Tami Meyers and her husband live in Northern California, close to three of their four daughters and eight of their twelve grandchildren. She has written short stories, poetry and whimsical tales since childhood. Her writing career began with articles in newspapers and newsletters, but an award winning entry in a short story contest spurred an interest in learning her craft. She wrote her first novel after discovering the joy of semi-retirement.

Tami, an avid reader with a love of words, strives to teach even the youngest reader something in each story, but believes it is best when done in a way that entertains rather than instructs. She believes that we all learn better when allowed to remember interesting details, instead of memorizing boring facts.
