Barnes & Noble - Ron Hart
Nearly seven years after his death, Tupac Shakur continues to be one of America's most successful recording artists, as his stockpile of unreleased material slowly finds its way to official release. Better Dayz, Pac's fifth consecutive posthumous release, gathers tracks from his legendary sessions as his alter ego Makaveli. And believe it or not, this double disc contains some of the hottest material of the slain rapper's career. Disc 1 includes plenty of songs fueled by anger and beefs, such as "When We Ride on Our Enemies," which targets Mobb Deep and unlikely foes the Fugees, and the Notorious B.I.G.–bashing "F*** 'em All." Disc 1 includes plenty of songs fueled by anger and beefs, such as "When We Ride on Our Enemies," which targets Mobb Deep and unlikely foes the Fugees, and the Notorious B.I.G.–bashing "F*** 'em All." All that bile is tempered by more reflective cuts such as "Mama's Just a Little Girl" and a gorgeous acoustic version of the track "Thugz Mansion," featuring his onetime nemesis Nas. The acoustic guitars continue to ring on Disc 2 with "My Block" and "Never Gonna Call U Bitch Again," featuring R&B crooner Tyrese. Most of the tracks on Disc 2 feature some form of live instrumentation, in stark contrast to hardcore-flavored cuts such as "Military Minds" and the Outlawz-assisted "Catchin Feeling," which would have sounded a lot more raw back in the old-school Death Row days. Thug cats may be taken aback by some of Better Dayz's rap-lite tracks, but fans will revel in this otherwise exceptional release
All Music Guide - John Bush
Though it was released on the eve of the busiest year in 2Pac's posthumous career, Better Dayz shouldn't be overlooked -- and with the schedule including a feature documentary with soundtrack, plus two books and another double album, it might be easy for this one to slip from the radar. A lengthy two-disc set, it benefits from a raft of still-compelling material by one of the two or three best rappers in history, as well as excellent compiling by executive producers Suge Knight and Afeni Shakur, 2Pac's mother. Organizing the set roughly into one disc of hardcore rap and one of R&B jams makes for an easier listen, and the R&B disc especially has some strong tracks, opening with a remix of 1995's "My Block" and including quintessentially 2Pac material -- reflective, conflicted, occasionally anguished -- like "Never Call U B**** Again," "Better Dayz," "Fame," and "This Life I Lead." Most of the tracks are previously unreleased, the rest coming from scattered compilations like Knight's Chronic 2000: Still Smokin' or 1995's The Show soundtrack. It's 2Pac's best album since his death, and bodes well for future material by, and concerning, rap's most legendary figure.

More than six years after Tupac Shakur's death, another posthumous double album from the influential rapper is being released. Better Dayz, follows on the heels of 2001's triple-platinum Until the End of Time and finds a storm of rappers contributing additional vocals to tracks Tupac recorded just before his murder on September 13, 1996. Guest apperances on the 20-track collection include Nas, Trick Daddy, Mya, Ronald "Mr. Biggs" Isley, Tyrese, and the Outlawz. Suge Knight and Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur, executive produced the album, and some of the proceeds of which will reportedly benefit the Tupac Shakur foundation. Corey Moss

    Better dayz

Better Dayz is another album by 2pac featuring 2 cds of unreleased songs. Most of the songs on this cd are average, with only 4 or 5 songs that are REALLY good. There are heaps of tracks here though including a couple of remixes. The second disc is defiantly the best with the first being filled with mostly boring tracks. I'm the biggest 2pac fan and I was a bit disapointed with this album. It's not bad, its just not great. For 2pac fans.

    One of Tupac's best

Tupac is the best rapper ever and this cd shows it. In "Better Days" he raps about the trouble and struggles people go through in the world today. His voice and lyrics give us all the encouragement to keep our head up and never give up. My respect goes out to Pac and his mom. Rest In Peace my brotha, forever.

    My Favorite Album of 2Pac

'Better Dayz' is my favorite 2Pac's album. I think this album is even better than 'All Eyez on Me.' Songs like Still Ballin', Fair Xchange, and Thugz Mansion are simply great. No 2Pac fan should miss this album, period. Fair Xchange and Thugz Mansion come in two versions each, and they all sound unique. The acoustic version of Thugz Mansion and My Block with children singing in the song show that Tupac was more than just a rapper; he was a musician.

This album was really well done. It captures Tupac's energy, excitement, and heart. I recommend you buy this cd even if you're not a Tupac fan, it's worth it!

    Tupac Still Destroying Them

What can I say Tupac does it again. This CD is intense, his work is brilliant and you can relate. The reason why he made it so big is because he rapped about real life not nonsense.

    Wow

What an incredible album. Great lyrics as always, great beats, great colaborations and great producing. It felt good hearing his voice and his passion once again. I can say that 95% of the songs on this album will not be skipped. Solid cover to cover. Maybe his best since All eyes on me.

    2pac at his finest!

Better Dayz is another 2pac cd that makes you wonder "where are these songs comming from?" and "is 2pac still alive?". Well you shouldnt waste your time on these questions, because 2pac is dead, and these songs are songs that he recorded before he died and never had the chance to make an album out of them so his mother is making money out of them. 2pac is the best and always will be, and the reason all these white rappers are making it is because of his and Notorious B.I.G.'s death, later

This CD is off the hook!

this cd is so bomb you can just put it in your sterio and just let it play right on through (Now skipping songs required) every song is so great. Even though he might be dead and these songs were recorded a few years back, but it seems like he recorded them a few Dayz ago, but it still is spactaular, his music will live on for millions of years to come. if you want some music to throw a party, then this is the cd for you.

    what a great cd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought the cd the first day it came out and I thought it was very good. Even though 2pac died six years ago I think his music and lyrics relate to the events happening today. Once again it is a great cd and I encourage all you 2pac fans and other people to go and buy it!!!!!!
