The fully updated and revised edition of the best-selling, tried-and-true resource for generations of cooks

Since 1930, home cooks have turned to Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book for guidance in the kitchen. This new edition includes more than 1,200 recipes, 1,000 color photos, and more tips and how-to information than ever. The “Secrets to Success” feature in each chapter shows cooks the key ingredients or steps to making each recipe successful. The “8 Ways With” feature enables home cooks to customize recipes by changing up flavors in basic recipes like omelets, shortbread cookies, and more. Along with the best recipes for favorite foods, this indispensable volume offers information on new cooking trends and fresh ideas, a new fruit and vegetable guide with ID photos, and expanded coverage of canning. Because food is at the heart of many family traditions, a new holiday chapter is included, and throughout the book, icons highlight recipes that are fast, low-calorie, and best-loved. From setting up a kitchen to cooking a great meal, this comprehensive book fulfills every cooking need.

I don't know if I've ever written a review on anything, but I had to write one here because I love this book! It is by far the best cookbook I own, as it gives you handy tips (both for beginners as well as tips that I think would be handy for more seasoned cooks), tons of options to customize recipes, and lots of fun ideas. Plus, there are a lot of helpful pictures. I can tell that the authors and editors of this book went above and beyond to include every tip, recipe, idea, and detail that they thought of. Everything I have made so far has been good! I don't usually cook often but since buying this book I have cooked 4x/week (which is a lot for me)! Plus, it comes with a subscription to Better Homes and Gardens magazine.

This is the third edition of this cook book I've purchased. I wear them out from use. I decided to go with an ebook version this time and I'm so happy I did. Ease of use, convenience, and awesome recipes cover to cover!

Do not spend any money on this product due to the poor quality of the binding. The content and pages of the cookbook are fine. The heavy rings are only attached at the top of the binder. Thus the lower portion is loose. Appears there should be a screw type fastener for the heavy binder which is missing. Do not recommend!!!

If you only buy one cookbook in your life-get this one!  It's the =absolute best, most practical cookbook on the market.  My grandma bought a copy back in the 1960s.  When I got married 22 years ago, I bought a copy and have used the heck out of it.  If there's a traditional home cooked meal that you can think of, it's in here.  If anything ever happens to my copy, I'm buying another immediately.  I can't heap enough praise on this cookbook--and I don't even LIKE cookbooks (in general).  The three ring binder format makes it very easy to use.
