Overview

A Summerville Novel
Always a Bridesmaid Book 1

He'd always bet on her, always...

Lark March is over Mason Stewart, so over him she's practically forgotten the cruel way he ended things four years ago. At least that's what she's told her sisters... But when Mason shows up at her best friend's wedding, talking sweet and looking even sweeter, Lark can't deny the man still gets to her in a major way.

Mason Stewart was a messed up kid, but he's a man now, a man who knows what he wants and won't stop until he's convinced the only woman he's ever loved that they are meant to be. He persuades Lark to give him seven days to remind her why they belong together. At the week's end, Lark may tell him to get out of her life for good, but Mason's betting on true love for the win.

But when old secrets come to light, Lark and Mason will find their rediscovered love tested, and happily ever after harder to hold on to than either of them wagered.

Fans of Bella Andre, Kristan Higgins, and Susan Mallery will love the Always a Bridesmaid contemporary romance series, stories featuring sassy Southern women and the alpha males who love them.

Meet the Author

Jessie Evans gave up a career as an international woman of mystery to write contemporary Southern romances and sexy, boundary-pushing New Adult reads. She enjoys sweet, small town romances, and fictional walks on the wild side, and can't imagine a better job than playing pretend for a living.

She's married to the man of her dreams, and together they're raising a few children in a cabin in the boonies. She grew up in rural Arkansas, spending summers running wild, being chewed by chiggers, and now appreciates her home in a chigger-free part of the world even more.
?
When she's not writing, Jessie enjoys playing her dulcimer (badly), sewing the worlds ugliest quilts to give to her friends, going for bike rides with her house full of boys, and wandering the woods, glass of wine and camera in hand, on the lookout for Bigfoot.
?
A southern girl, born and bred, Jessie loves writing romances with sizzle, and hopes you'll enjoy her stories set in the south.

    Nice romance

Nice story showing how true love CAN stand the test of time and trials. Also the importance of a loving family, and how a lack can mess with so many lives in so many ways.

    All Bets Off

Off to a good start, but then cussing and immorality was introduced. Disappointing to say the least.

    Annoying beginning

I absolutelty hate the beginning and stopped there. What kind of person hasn't seen or heard from a guy who broke her heart for 4 years but decides to start seeing him again like nothing ever happened. If that one part had played out different it would have gotten more stars.

Will. She Give Him A Second Chance?  Betting on You, by Jessie E

Will. She Give Him A Second Chance?

Betting on You, by Jessie Evans, is a story of trust, love and forgiveness. Mason, recently finished med school and joined a family medical group in Atlanta. That had been part of the plan all along. What had not been part of the plan was spending the last for years without contacting his fiancee. Well, she was his fiancee for one night. The morning after he proposed and she said yes he had left without telling her and now four years have past.
Evans writing style is easy to follow, book is well paced and keeps your attention. Mason's character is the only one we see well developed. Sweet love story.

    Good

For free this was a good read, nothing over the top though. It was a little predictable. Mason already knew he made a mistake the first time and was trying to make things right and have a second chance so when Lark broke up with him for what happened 4 years ago was a little ridiculous to me.

Ending felt rushed. Feel bad for Mason a lot! Would love for a guy to be that in to me! Overall a nice story. Can't wait to read the sisters stories!
