Betty CrockerR has been producing cookbooks featuring recipes easily prepared by the average home cook for more than 55 years. But the cookbooks, like the company, have changed with the times, and on the face of it, this latest volume appears ideal for beginners. New features include recipes for modern dishes like South of the Border Burritos and Picadillo Chicken Paella, a "20 Minutes or Less" recipes section, and expanded grilling coverage. There is plenty of useful information on ingredients, tools, and step-by-step cooking techniques. This reviewer hesitates to recommend a "bridal" book that appears simply to be the "Big Red" Betty Crocker Cookbook with a few (32) added pages on entertaining, wedding trivia, and cooking for two. There are other books in which these topics are covered more completely (in fact, Betty Crocker has separate books on each of them).
