Wonderful Book - Makes a Great Gift!

I have been using this book since I was a little boy helping my Grandmother bake for special occasions. The directions are straight forward, you do not need any special tools, and the cookies taste amazing. Now that I am older, I have purchased several of these to give as gifts. This is a must have for any cookie lover.

Best Ever

Have worn out two of these books over the years - first a gift from my mom years ago, then aquired hers when she passed away. this is the best for variety and ease of use!! Wouldn't have Christmas without it!!!!

Great Family Tradition

I have used the cookbook for close to 40 years and now my daughters use the newer printing of this 1963 classic. It is fun, full of terrific recipes, extra little tidbits of information, historical and cultural, making the baking and sharing of these goodies even more fun.

What a great book!

I have my mother's (first issue) of this cooky book. It's falling apart from all the use it has gotten over the years We had our favorites and not so great favorites, . Although there were very few that we made we didn't like. A few of our favorites were Butter Horn Cookies,Chocolate-Coconut Candies and Ethel's Sugar Cookies. The sugar cookies are the best ever.

BETTY CROCKER COOKIE BOOK

This is a great book, both for the experienced baker and also for the person just starting out. This is the second book like this that I have owned. The first was given to me back in the l950's when I was a young bride. I used it constantly and finally replaced it in 2009 because it was absolutely falling apart. It seems that the CreamWafer recipe is a favorite with several of my grandchildren and great-grands. I ship them as holiday gifts over a thousand miles to one grandaughter and her family, and finally I decided to send her the recipe and the cookie cutter so that she could make her own.....a little while later one of the COOKIE BOOKS followed. A great buy and wonderful book.

Brings me back to my childhood

This cookbook was our Christmas Baking Bible my whole life. The recipes have passed through generations and its not a holiday until I break it out. Ours is so worn and torn we can hardly read it, I am so glad I could find another copy!

Betty Crocker''s Cooky Book

This is a remake of the cookie book my great-grandmother used when I was a child. It brought back many memories of baking in the kitchen and gobbling up cookies while they were still warm. I have the original book with my grandmothers favorite cookies marked and some minor corrections she thought to make the cookies better. This year I will be giving the book to all my cousins who never had the fun of baking with grandma. There are some delicious cookies inside the book that I have not found anywhere else. A must have book for the cookie lover.

This is the best cookie book ever!!!!

I make Christmas cookies for my son's teachers every year. This is a wonderful book to have if you want to bake a variety of cookies. The recipes are easy to follow and the cookies are fun to make.

My favorite cook book every

I LOVE this cooky book! I used it just about every Saturday when I was growing up. My suggestions (and staples) are peanut butter cookies and chocolate chip. I've also given this book as a wedding present twice, with a great response.

First Place--Blue Ribbon

When I was 10 or 12, a long time ago, I entered the cocoa brownies at the local fair and won the blue ribbon. Mom got the 1963 edition, she passed away in '95 and the first thing I did was to get that Cooky Book. When I looked through it at all the pictures I remembered the Christmas cookies she'd spend days making and we'd comsume in no time at all. Wonderful memories!! I have since bought both my sisters the book, and have even entered Mom's penciled in notations. Unfortunately, I can't reproduce the cocoa, butter, flour stains and Moms love.

Passing on the tradition

When my children were growing up, we made cookies all through December and then gave them to neighbors and my husband's co-workers. We used this book to make almost every cookie we ever made. Now I'm sending them both copies and the old cookie cutters we used so that they can have the same kind of fun with their children looking forward to Christmas and the joy of sharing.

Relieve cherished memories

I am ecstatic to find this reprint. I have my mom's original 1963ed and it is truly worn out (it barely survived a flood). It is the only cookbook I use and the memories it brings back everytime I use it is priceless. You can't find better 'cooky' recipes anywhere. The Snickerdoodles are my favorite and everyone says I make the best chocolate chip cookies - they are better than tollhouse! A cookbook that starts traditions.

Very Good!

I love to make cookies (and eat the dough) but I could never really find any cookbook that gave me a fun recipe. Chocolate chip was the only kind I really knew how to make. Then I was given this book! It is cute, retro, and I probably gained twenty pounds because of all the cookies I ate (that came from this book!).

COOKIES!

Grandma has the orginial Betty Crocker Cookbook and my mom has the Cooky Book. I remember the smells of holiday baking on Christmas Eve night (all night) and being able to have cookies or pie for Christmas breakfast. This book brings back all those wonderful memories! Can't wait to give my daughters the same ones! A must have for all cooks young and old!

Seen It and All the Memories Came Back

My mom had this book from 1963 and it is now mine. I was totally excited to see they had released another edition. I can't wait to use it. My kids are excited too!

Wonderful memories

My sisters and I purchased this book when we were still in high school. We used it constantly as we grew up even making the gingerbread house. The recipes were wonderful and so easy to do and the tips are so helpful even for someone with a lot of experience in baking. I then used my favorite recipes from it with my children. This year, I purchased 6 copies for my children and my brothers families so they may use the same recipes and remember.

The Only Cookie Book You Will Ever Need!

I have totally worn my original cookie book out. Covers are off, pages stained. I was thrilled to see this in print as the original book. I have ordered several copies for my daughters and daughters-in-law. I wrote in their cookbooks the same as I had in mine. For example: Ethels Sugar Cookies - I wrote: "Family favorite - especially for holiday cookies. Use both vanilla and lemon flavoring." I have a new copy as well. Love it!
