For Leslie Haskin, it was a second chance at life. This is the riveting account of Leslie's harrowing escape--down 36 floors in a doomed and dying building and away from a life focused on perks, prestige, and power. The intervening months brought crippling mental and emotional distress, but from the rubble and ashes, the corporate climber rediscovered the faith of her childhood and now embraces a new life of serving others.

What People Are Saying

Paula Rinehart
"For those of us who want an inside peek at God's compassionate presence in the midst of inscrutable tragedy, this book is as close an experience of 'being there' as we are likely to get. Leslie's struggle for faith in the face of unanswered questions can inspire us all."
Author of Strong Women, Soft Hearts and Sex and the Soul of a Woman
Patsy Clairmont
"Hang onto your heart". While this is not an emotionally easy read it is a redemptive one. We witness in Leslie the reverberation of the human spirit as she recovers her footing after September 11. How extraordinarily courageous of her to let us see how she found her way out of the unthinkable."
Speaker for Women of Faith and Author of All Cracked Up
Brian Birdwell
"Between Heaven and Ground Zero hits the nail on the head of two very large nails. First, it reminds us of the capacity for evil from jihadists that our nation still faces, and second and most important, that a personal relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ, is the only source of personal and eternal peace."
Lt. Col. (Ret.) Survivor of Pentagon attack and Founder of Face the Fire Ministry

    Not just another 911 story!!

I have to admit that when I first saw this title I thought 'Oh no, not another 911 story'. But I am very glad that I bought this book. I would rate this 10 stars if I could. This story was not what I thought. In fact, it literally knocked me off my feet. I read it in 7 hours-a real page turner. Leslie Haskin gave me a true feeling of what the indescribable experience was like without actually being there. It also never occurred to me the after affects of post-traumatic stress disorder that she or many would have suffered, nor the financial distress that no one cared to help her with. Most importantly though, is not what was mentioned above, but how God brought her through all her suffering and turned her into something phenomenal. Her experience did not only happen to shape her soul, but to help yours as well. Exceptionally well-written, this book is worth every penny and I plan to pass it onto others.

    Inspiational story...

I think in this life we all experience something that knocks us off center. Leslie struggled in a building that was placed on a slant. This is about her inspiring story of rebuilding her life after that event. Going back to the faith of her childhood-going home. I too read this book in about 7 hours. I loved the way she interwoven the scriptures in the chapters. Which soften the blow of what you were about to read. The horrors of the twin towers. I hope she will write another book. We so need writer like her. Who are not afraid to open their hearts to the world. To forgive and go on with life in grace.
